Women's Health - September 2007

When i lie on my front, i have lower back pains. I get heartburn, dizzyness, tiredness, funny tingly cramps in my belly, also when i stand up, my vision goes black and i feel really light headed, even if i get up slowly. I had unprotected sex two mondays ago on-wards. Is it too early to tell and get these signs?

requent urination also, iv'e come off the pill that i have bin on for a month and have bin taking incorrectly, so i'm currently waiting for my period now.

painful plus when she does number 1 when on her period she is passing very thick clot like stuff can anyone tell me is she starting to go through the change cause she is 45 if so what can be done right now let me know thank you

Is it just me or is a pap smear the worst thing ever? I went for my first exam yesterday and it was awful. I didn't want togo but I had to to get birth control for college. They had me lie with my butt right on the egde of a table with my legs spread and up in the air in crutches so they could see everything. The doctor then put a needle inside me ? and then pushed her fingers right inside me. I am not sure this is the right, why do you have to feel so humiliated? Does this happen every year or was it just cause it was my first visit?

i heard from someone that if girls lift really heavy things it can cause their insides to slip down and make it difficult for them to get pragnent latter on in life...
also if you push when you pee..??

right well my brests are very tender and sore they don't hurt as such but i find the feeling uncomfortable and before people ask i'm NOT pregant! i'm only 16 is this down to grow still or before your period (i have all ready started) because i know i'm due soon sooo...
oh anything to help the discomfort?

I had a few blood tests done because I haven't gotten a period in about 5 months. The tests showed that I have an overactive Thyroid, low Estrogen levels, and cysts on my ovaries (ultrasound). My doctor said that I'm not eating enough and if I don't change my diet, I could be unable to have children later in life. I usually have cereal with soymilk for breakfast, some kind of fruit for lunch, and plenty of vegetables with my dinner, or a salad for dinner. She says I need to have something from each food group with each meal. I know this is going to be very hard for me. I don't think I can comfortably eat that much.
I've also been losing weight and they think that I'm doing it on purpose. I think that has to do with the Thyroid.
Do you think I really need to have something from each food group with every single meal?

Today I had whole grain toast with apple butter and some low fat yogurt for breakfast, and a mini pita w/ peanut butter, and some strawberries for lunch. How's that?

My girlfriend is scared from her period this month. Her periods are usually 3-4 days and relatively light. The night of the 4th day this time around she experienced heavy bleeding...more than she has ever noticed before. We were wondering what this could be.

I am 44, married with 2 boys. I have an ovarian cyst and my doctor lately recommends to have it removed 'cause it's growing larger than 6 cm. I never suffer any discomfort or heavy period, instead my period is getting so light from the past couple of years. Do you think I should go for the surgery?

my sister is 13 years old and her school is "offering" ( more like using them as guinea pigs) all the girls her age the vaccine. my parents have nagged her about not getting the vaccine as it may have side-effects and promote promiscouity (Sp?), but to no avail. she still wanted this vaccine desperatly, for whatevr reason.

that was 3 days ago. now that its all done and over, she is starting to get second thoughts. i was wondering if you guys know of any short/long term side effects this vaccine can cause to kids her age and also your opinion on giving this vaccine to kids in general.

ive been on the depo shot for 3 years now and dont have periods because of it. 2 weeks ago i started a full blown period...bright red, im cramping like crazy, my ovary hurts and its still going strong well into week two. im not due for my shot again till mid october. should i see a doctor?

I am trying to figure out if I am really late or if I shouldn't be expecting a period right now.

I tried taking birth control for a couple weeks and had to stop because of the side effects. I started the first day of my period and everything was fine. I stopped and had a period 3 days later. If things were normal I would have started my period a few days ago. I've had some PMS and I have had some very light spotting but no period.

Am I late or should I be counting from the second period I had when I stopped the pill?

My best friend is a 57 year old male. I am an 18 year old female. For the past month we have been exclusively dating. We are fine with the situation and very respectful of others. More recently his friends have voiced great negativity and have even threatened to disown him should he continue seeing me this way. Under much pressure, he has decided to break up with me (no fault of my own), and "reevaluate" the situation. He has known me a while and we do love eachother, so we still talk. He has decided that we can continue our relatinship if a number of people say, 'yeah this is weird, but you are both adults who have to face the consequences of your actions. We dont like it, but we dont think either of you are bad people in doing this.' His friends mentioned that he is stealing my life. He is not. I am not blind, I am very clear as to want I would like to experiment. Without sarcasm, is he just wrong, or should we be allowed to try and see for ourselves? Please be serious.

When I was 21, I asked an OBGYN if i could get sterialized, he told me that I would change my mind about having children, so no.

I'll be 24 and I want to be sterialized, do you think I can get it done? I'm going to be married and my partner doesn't want children either. In fact, he's just a few years older than me and is able to get a vasectomy, no one says he'll change his mind. Do you think if I let my doctor know that my husband has had a vasectomy that I'll be able to get a tubal done?

Also, is it even worse the risks given that my partner will have had a vasectomy? I know that a vasectomy can fail and I really don't want to stay on the pill or go through an abortion, but I will if I absolutely have to. I'm not having children!!! Why can't my doctors believe me?!

I have a small hole above my nipple and it seems to be getting bigger, and the other day I noticed there seems to be another one starting. It is above my nipple and I'm wondering if this is a sign of anything? I'm thinking about getting it checked out- but I don't have any insurance for myself. The hole is pretty small...although I can tell it is getting bigger, and it is almost like the edges of the skin are burnt....and it just goes into my skin...not a bump at all....just like a pit or something.....any help is appreciated....
