I had a few blood tests done because I haven't gotten a period in about 5 months. The tests showed that I have an overactive Thyroid, low Estrogen levels, and cysts on my ovaries (ultrasound). My doctor said that I'm not eating enough and if I don't change my diet, I could be unable to have children later in life. I usually have cereal with soymilk for breakfast, some kind of fruit for lunch, and plenty of vegetables with my dinner, or a salad for dinner. She says I need to have something from each food group with each meal. I know this is going to be very hard for me. I don't think I can comfortably eat that much.
I've also been losing weight and they think that I'm doing it on purpose. I think that has to do with the Thyroid.
Do you think I really need to have something from each food group with every single meal?
Today I had whole grain toast with apple butter and some low fat yogurt for breakfast, and a mini pita w/ peanut butter, and some strawberries for lunch. How's that?

you don't have to eat something from every food group for every meal. but you do need more protein and iron. i was a vegetarian for over three years, and i had really bad health problems. this is not because of the vegetarian diet necessarily, but because i did not educate myself on what foods i needed to be eating.
peanut butter is a good source of protein, but without supplements it's not enough. consider eating small amounts of chicken or fish. you do not have to overload on the meat (i still have days where i eat little or no meat), but you do need some if you are not going to be eating other forms of protein.
if you so not do something now, the doctor is right. your body will deteriorate and will be in no condition to procreate. when you reach a certain weight, your body will stop its cycle, making it impossible to conceive. you need to be healthy for you first, and then you will be healthy for children later on.

Breakfast this morning sounds great. After reading what you eat on a typical day, it sounds to me like you are not getting enough protein....plain and simple. You do not necessarily have to eat more, just change what you are eating. Eating protein will help you put some weight back on. I don't know for sure, but it sounds like you are a vegetarian. So if you won't eat, or just don't like meat, a combination of beans and rice, nuts, peanut butter, ice cream, or yogurt are a great place to start. Another suggestion that may help is eat more frequently, grab a granola bar or protein bar between your meals.

You'll be able to must go to the drug store for this... So no longer dwelling relief but it's the first-class thing i've located. I've tried about every relief there is. It is called Iodex. It appears like axle grease but in the event you use it your poison ivy will be useless day after today. To use it though you have to destroy all of the principles: 1. Scrape open the blisters and clean with cleaning soap and water. 2. Dry off and quickly apply the Iodex then duvet with gauze or a gentle dry cloth so you won't wipe the Iodex off by chance. The next morning you can see that the poison ivy is useless. You'll be able to most of the time must ask the pharmacist to get it for you because it will not be out on a shelf or show. It is not prescription. Ensure you ask for the person who is for cuts and abrasions. @JenV: Thanks for that. Like you i've been protected from head to foot, routinely. I will must provide your Neoxyn a are trying. That is the primary i have heard of it.

You still need to eat more. Your metabolism is probably fast. Are you vegetarian? If you are, you need to add protien to your diet otherways. There are countless websites that will answer that.

I think that what you really should do is make an appointment with a dietitian and learn how to feed yourself in the healthiest way possible.
Also, if your doctor tells you that you need certain medications or treatments, either get a second opinion or do as he/she says. They go to school for a LONG time to learn how to heal the body...its up to you to heal the rest.

It sounds like they are telling you that you have an eating disorder. Anorexics stop having periods. It's their bodies telling them something is wrong. Are you underweight? Please give more details.
