Women's Health - January 2007

I've had this on and off pain *on a scale from 1-10, 10 being the worst, its like at a 4 maybe.* And...I've had it since like December 15th or so. It doesn't hurt bad enough to have to take pain meds. I've never been sexually active. I'm 24.

Ok so...I had started my Period on Monday December 25th...And it ended on Saturday December 30th...But, Today, I woke up and I appeared to be bleeding down there...Like a normal period, But a heavier flow than usual...But It's only been 10 days since I ended my last period...Is this normal??? And what can this be caused by?? Do I need to worry about this as much as I am??

I've had the Mirena IUD put in last Oct. and have had severe mood swings, along w/ alot of abdominal discomfort. All of the discomforts are the same as being on my regular period. My question is has anyone else experienced the same while on the Mirena? If so, have you found anything to help eleviate the discomforts without resorting to getting it removed?

is it possible to have PCOS and not have any symptoms at all, besides no menstrual period...FYI i'm 5'3 108.6lbs not at all overweight nor do i have any face, chest hair just the typical peach fuzz all women have......anybody ever been diagnosed with PCOS and had not one symptom of this disorder????i'm also experiencing infertility

I'm not ovulating or having periods and i have done some test such as prolactin levels, thyroid, pituitary gland, white/red blood cell count, kidney/liver function and they all came out perfect...i have a little bit of a hyper thyroid but not enough to get treated....I ruled out PCOS myself due to the fact that im not the least bit overweight im actually skinny, i have no facial hair just light peach fuz like all women do, ect even my doc said she doesnt think i have it.......im trying to find out if anyone had PCOS with no symptoms at all. please help me out let me know if its at all ossible. going to be starting metformin after my progesterone challenge to see if it can stimulate ovulation...help please

Just went to the doctors for the second time around. I have not had my period in over a year. I'm not overweight, i dont have facial hair(just typical peach fuz on women) so i know i don't have PCOS..I had my prolactin levels, thyroid, pituitary gland, white/red blood cell count, liver/kidney function checked and it was all good..So she is now doing a progesterone challenge on me with provera to see if i have withdraw bleeding, if i do she is going to put me on metformin to see if that stimulates ovulation. however i was reading that it is for diabetics and women with PCOS who don't ovulate...has anybody who is not a diabetic or does not have PCOS ever takin this drug to help ovulate? is it ok to use it, and is it effective???she doesnt really want to put me on clomid she says it's out of her range and has never prescribed that to anyone. she is not an obgyn. if i don't bleed from proges challenge then im going to OBGYN. 21 + only please

im 28. going to have a hysterectomy for medical reasons. im still a little scared and the closer it gets the more scared i get. i mean i trust my doc. and truthfully i was fine until he said "death" as a risk. my family is wonderful and will be there a lot but.........will everything be okay? can they handle everything without me? iim not saying im irreplacable but............i dont know!!!!!!!!! so much going on in my head so hard to think straight help please
