I've had the Mirena IUD put in last Oct. and have had severe mood swings, along w/ alot of abdominal discomfort. All of the discomforts are the same as being on my regular period. My question is has anyone else experienced the same while on the Mirena? If so, have you found anything to help eleviate the discomforts without resorting to getting it removed?

I have Mirena had it since August.........I have experienced the opposite. I had bad PMS before the IUD now I have none. No pain or periods. I do have spotting off and on but I can deal with that.

You can email me if you have other questions.

I would call your Dr and let them know what is going on.

No, but contacting your OB/GYN for advice is the safest bet for getting reliable options.
