Erectile dysfunction, that is. My husband is 49 years old, and was diagnosed w/ type 2 diabetes about ten years ago. He was prescribed medication (two kinds), but stopped taking them after about a week. He does nothing to control his diabetes. Doesn't even check his blood sugar. Eats cake, cookies, candy -- any sweets he wants. Like everyday. He has had high b.p. in the past, yet didn't take RX for that either. Within the past year, he has had ED. Well...it seems he doesn't have a problem with taking Viagra, or Cialis (sp?). He wasn't prescribed this RX, but rather has a friend who works at a Dr.'s office, who gives him samples which pharmaceutical reps bring in. My question is this:
Is the ED indicative that his body is breaking down, or deteriorating in other ways? I've been worried for the past ten years that he is going to drop dead. Can someone with uncontrolled diabetes possibly live to a ripe old age??? He becomes real defensive when bring up the subject.
