Our 13 yr old daughter has justed started to have weekly sessions with her school counsellor due to her having self injured. She has huge image conscious problems (most do this age). She also has a younger brother with autism. I did initally speak to the counsellor over the phone and she told me about her procedures etc. but I wondered whether it would be too pushy to go along and see her. I understand everything is confidential between my daughter and therapist, but I am anxious to know how she is getting on. She is telling me bits and pieces, or should I leave it for a few more sessions and then ask if we can come in? Thanks

Ever since my husband told me that I was snoring one night, and now it seems that I don't sleep good anymore. My husband doesn't think it has anything to do with that. He thinks it is stress from bigger issues, like job related, etc. Do you think it is stressors from job issues, etc, or being worried about snoring?

My mom flipped out bcuz my dog slipped out of his collar which was attached to a leash, & decided to sleep on the family room sofa (instead of in his area). My mom hates the dog to be in the house. He doesn't make any messes, and i clean up after him.She started screaming, hitting herself, hitting me, swearing, throwing things, crying hysterically, then accuses me of abusing the dog (by letting him in when it's 98 degrees outside & humidity is very high). Then she accuses me of blackmailing her bcuz the dog's inside. She says the house is filthy, even though i try to keep it meticulously clean everyday, so she doesn't flip out.She blames lots of random things that happen on the dog. She says i abuse the tv, the radio, the dog, the piano...But i did my best to avoid these things so she doesn't get into a fit. I dont know what to do.She's very beligerent at times. She has horrible mood swings.I do my best to not upset her, but it seems if it's not the dog, it's something else.PleaseHelp!

I am 25yrs old, and was diagnosed with anxiety back in February of this year, and suffered my first panic attack in May. Since then my body doesnt feel the same...I get alot of tingling in my arms, and upper thighs. I also get headaches all over my head, and chest pain. I stopped taking the anxiety medicine, because it made my heart skip a beat. I feel that I am starting to overcome my anxiety, but these lingering issues keep me worrying. Is there anything I can do to stop these physical symptons? Should I go see a pyschologist? Are there any natural remedies or herbal supplements that I can take to help?

Please help.

Thanks

Why do you believe (know) when you've been through something traumatic would your mind send you some place worse? Do you think it's so, when you "come around" you will see it could be worse. Also, then you could possibly deal with what is or has happened better? Also, do you know if it's possible to hallucinate (visually and hearing voices) and it be temporary? I know a lot of patients may think it's temporary. I'm looking for a professional opinion on that one. FYI: I will be showing my counselor this ? later today. Just curious. Thanks.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THEM?
**
I look at all the lonely people.
I look at all the lonely people.

Ella Marigby
Picks up the rice in the church where her wedding has been;
Lives in a dream.
Waits at the window,
Wearing a face that she keeps in a jar by the door.
Who is it for?
All the lonely people, where do they all come from?
All the lonely people, where do they all belong?

Father MacKenzie
Writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear;
No one comes near.
Look at him working,
Nodding his socks in the night when there's nobody there.
What does he care?
All the lonely people, where do they all come from?
All the lonely people, where do they all belong?

I look at all the lonely people.
I look at all the lonely people.

Ella Marigby
Died in the church and was buried alone with her name.
Nobody came.
Father MacKenzie
Wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from her grave.
No one was saved.
All the lonely people where do they all come from?

See, this has really caught my attention, and I was just wondering if it's possible for someone to die from it.

Like, has anyone ever been cured from this? Is it possible?

I really do want to know, so if you can help me, please help me.

thanks! :)

I have the following:

Gerontophobia- fear of old people
Arachnophobia- fear of spiders
Emetophobia- fear of vomiting
Nyctohylophobia- fear of dark wooded areas or of forests at night

Or maybe I'm just a hypochondriac ;)

So, do you have any unusual irrational fears or anxieties?

So I accedentally Stabbed my hand with a steal cable today and it hurt like crazy. As I felt the searing pain, I thought of my wife yelling at me. I pictured her angry face very vivldly.

What is this all about? Is thispost traumatic stress?

My therapist keeps saying things like, "In Recovery we sometimes...." and "A lot of people in Recovery..." She says recovery is a life-long process.

I have Bi-Polar disorder but other than that I don't have anything to recover from and there is no cure for that anyway.
