Child molesters and abusers often use the excuse that they were also molested and abused as children. The question is, why? If anything, one would think that being the victims of abuse would keep them from inflicting the same kind of suffering on others.

I know I need help from a psychiatrist or someone but I'm scared. I don't like talking about how I feel and about myself so it's going to be difficult for me to open up for the first time ever. I'm concerned also about the fact that if I tell them everything they will try to section me or something... Can they do that? What are the circumstances where they can?

Or are they having the seizures partly because they already are?

I know an epileptic man who, when taking certain medications, AND when not taking them at all, behaves very peculiarly at times, in increasing intensity over each day with the wrong med or no med.

His new neurologist told him it was "normal" for an epileptic to behave with extreme paranoia, creepy sensations, explosive anger, lack of motivation or interest in others' feelings, and impulsive behaviors, among other things. I wouldn't know because the family was not allowed to go in and tell him what all he had been doing prior to the new med. All I know is he functions fine enough to go online and do game design, moderate a website, cook, etc. He's intelligent....

A past trip to a psychiatrist (while seeing a neurologist) got him a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. Shouldn't he have mentioned this to a new neurologist, AND shouldn't his family be allowed to tell the doctor what they've seen him do?

Alright I have a roomate that has two little girls who are alright. Here is the problem her brother whom I will not allow her to tell where I live has been in some bad trouble lately and now it is affecting me mentally. Her mother is totally neurotic and blames her for everything including getting her brother started on drugs, he is the oldest it is the other way around. He does not know where I live and I want to keep it that way because he is such bad news now I am having nighmares about him being so bad and coming to my house. Here is the truth about what really happened with him. Last week his mom opened his bedroom door and found him laid up with a girl, she got mad and told him to take it under someone elses roof. He took her home he says and three days later she was found in a dumpster dead. It is giving me nightmares I have only met him once and he is a crack head. I am 46 and am still scared to death of him finding out where I live and coming here. Can U help me out?

He fits every definition of a sociopath/antisocial personality-sadistic, control freak, no patience, etc. And he thinks he has the right to control everyone and becomes very angry when he can't. He is a business owner and very outgoing and talkative. I am just the opposite. I am very quiet and shy. People like him, but behind closed doors they don't see the abuse. He has beaten me down and my personality has changed. He has completely ruined my reputation with his lies and for some reason people believe him. Its very weird, HE ACCUSES ME OF DOING WHAT HE IN FACT DOES and then his friends and family make problems for me. I feel like I am living in a nightmare that just keeps getting worse! I try to tell people what is happening , but he is just more convincing. I can't understand why anyone would believe him and defend him. Its crazy and I don't know how to make people believe me or how to to get away from him.

There are as many different beliefs as there are people. One of the most important ways to progress through the grieving process is to believe in SOMETHING that gives you peace that your departed loved one is at rest. www.myshininglight.com

I have a steady job, people are paying attention to what I'm saying, I've just started seeing someone who actually seems to care for me, my mum; who's always been ill seems to be stabilising and the relationship between my father and I seems to be getting stronger and stronger by the day. So why do I feel like this? I wake up in the mornings with this feeling that there is something wrong in my little corner of the world and I can't place my finger on it. I've seen a doctor and I'm not ill in any major way; a few niggling injuries that I already knew about and my bloodworks good. So what's going on?

Have you ever had depression, or know someone who has it? Just a couple of questions... How old were you when it all started? What sort of stuff do you do to "cope" (I know you dont really cope inside, I listen to so much music, and I used to drink heaps and cut)? Did you just shut certain people out and pull other people in closer? What helps you when you feel like losing it? Are you the mopey type or agro type? I'm sorry, I've had depression for nearly 3 years, just need to relate to someone... Last question, does it ever get any easier?

I started on lexapro for almost a week, i thought it was working great but i found out i was allergic to it, so my doc switched to wellbutrin. I've been on it for 2 weeks now and i don't like how it makes me feel. i feel kind of jittery, not really feeling like myself (don't know how to explain the feeling). so i was taking the XL for the 2 weeks and today i started on the SR. i took it at 7:30pm and i fell asleep just fine but i woke up @ 2am and had that weird jittery/ skin crawlie feeling and evertime i would doze off it would happen again. so i had to get up and i'm so freakin tired, but i really don't like that feeling. Has anyone had this same/ simaller problem? i just wanna go back to the lexapro but i can't =(

I was wondering becz I knew some guy , who was very clever at college & could attain higher degrees , but at last with out any evidence he declared a story that I wil one day hurt him & I have a plan for & that I'm faking myself to him .
previusly I was hearing that he does not trust women
& that he consider people the same , & that he never expect anything from any body so that he does not get hurt or disappointed .
in A way or another I felt very bad about the accusations , but lastly I was reviewing my texts & I found lots of paranoid features fits on him ..but the question is how come ?? that he could attain a PHD & he thinks like this ?

I have a very dear male neighbor, age 80, who suffers from dementia. He lives with his wife. He got through the spring and summer fairly well as he kept busy outside doing such things as weeding, watering, washing the car, and so on, even though he repeated the same activities several times a day! I am very concerned how he will cope this winter. He can't play games, do jigsaw puzzles, or even read. He is in excellent physical shape. Do you have any ideas or suggestions on activities he could do that would occupy his time? I would be interested in hearing from others about any personal experiences they have had with friends or family members suffereing from dementia. Such a cruel disease...
