I started on lexapro for almost a week, i thought it was working great but i found out i was allergic to it, so my doc switched to wellbutrin. I've been on it for 2 weeks now and i don't like how it makes me feel. i feel kind of jittery, not really feeling like myself (don't know how to explain the feeling). so i was taking the XL for the 2 weeks and today i started on the SR. i took it at 7:30pm and i fell asleep just fine but i woke up @ 2am and had that weird jittery/ skin crawlie feeling and evertime i would doze off it would happen again. so i had to get up and i'm so freakin tired, but i really don't like that feeling. Has anyone had this same/ simaller problem? i just wanna go back to the lexapro but i can't =(

Most antidepressants cause side effects that last only a short period of time. The effects you mention are very normal, but if they bother you, you should consult your doctor to see if a dose adjustment or medication change is in order.

Some strategies you may want to try to combat the jitters and twitches include: practicing deep-breathing exercises and muscle relaxation; and getting vigorous exercise, such as jogging, biking, or aerobics.

It happens to almost all people who take wellbutrin. It will go away in 3 weeks in its own. Valium 2mg in the morning may help you.
Wellbutrin is safer than all other antidepressants available in the market. Lexapro and other SSRIs cause sexual dysfunction and weight gain. If you are sensitive to antidepressants, start at the available lowest dose and increase the dose gradually. I think XL is better than SR. I am taking XL 150mg in the morning for 26 days now. I switched from Lexapro due to sexual side effects. I am getting used to Wellbutrin.

I like to call it The Wellbutrin Jitters. Yep, it'll go away in about 3 weeks (as someone said). I actually got off Wellbutrin for a while and then back on it again and the jitters actually didn't last as long. Hope it gets better soon for you!

Go and discuss this with your doctor. there may be alternatives which may not have the side effects.
