Yesterday morning I went to the ER for wisdom tooth pain, a nerve is exposed and my pain is through the roof. I was given 800mg ibuprofen. I was happy that I was going to get some pain relief. I took the Ibuprofen and nothing, for the rest of the day my tooth pain was cutting right through the IB.

I called the hospital and asked for a script of something stronger or even Tylenol 3. and was told that the Ibuprofen that was perscribed was enough to handle the pain. BUT IT WASN'T.

So what is the deal, did the hospitals adopt a blanket mentality that everyone is an addict. I'm sure my expirence is not unique and there are probably more people that walk out of ER rooms not having their pain managed correctly.

I get this often, usually when I lift something too heavy. However it generally goes away in a few days after using a heating pad. Yet, this time, after 6 days, the pain is still there. Many friends tell me to go to a chiropractor, but I think this is muscular and not skeletal.

The pain is just to the left of the top of my spine, and it is not constant, just annoying. I can turn my neck with just slight discomfort, but I does hurt when I try and sleep on my stomache.

Any ideas as to what this is?

I am 24 years old and I have minor chest pain occasionally. It's not really painful just an annoyance. It's usually on the right side and there is a slight bit of pain along with pressure. It usually goes away within 5-10 minutes. What could this be?

I really appriciate those who answered intellegently. As for having various drinks
taking some advil,a hot bath, get a message,go to a chiropractor,is not all allowed, the bath yes,but there is no chiropractor, massage theripist that will take
me in.I have to go to pain management. And for those who don't know what that
is and want to make jokes about it,etc...I would LOVE for anyone who has a back that is literally wasted and before I quickly explain,I wanted to throw this back issue out to see how many people really understand what one back issue
that has gone unattended for some time can do to a person all because they
wanted to keep working knowing the consequences. The shots I get are not
steroids,I just can't pronounce the name of the medicine. One section is done
3 times, wait 3 months then they go to another section.7 to 8" long needles that
are injected slowly as the doctor has my back on an x-ray screen. They numb
around the area after that you can't help but cry.LOP.

okay i am 12 years old and i have had contacts for about a year or so. yesterday is when i started having trouble. here's how it went. i was riding my bike outside when suddenly my right eye started hurting. iwent inside and took that contact out there was no pain as soon as i took it out. so i washed my hands cleaned my contact and tried putting it back in. as soon as it was in hello pain! the pain is in the inner corner and top of my eye. it hurts especially when i blink. so i took the contact out for the entire day assuming my eye needed a break. i washed my face without contacts and that eye started hurting as soon as the water touched it. then today i got a new set of contacts from the box and put the right one in it still hurts! what do you think is wrong because i really need them today i have a cheer competition and i really need to see(i have no time to go to the doctors and i have no glasses)

everytime i play basketball, or any other sport that requires being on your toes, my arches start to ache like a @#%^. that really sharp, intense kind of ache. i just recently found out i have pretty flat feet, so i bought some insoles for that, but they didn't help that ache at all. has anyone else experienced this? if so, have you any suggestions?

Mine refused to but my reg doc did and then my rheum and orthopedic surgeons accused me of being a drug addict but that was over 10 yrs ago. im afraid to go back there but I need some orthopedic surgeons.I'm wondering if things have changed. That was the mayo clinic 10 yrs ago. and yes I am disabled and have numerous forms of arthritis and painful deformities.

I have serious problems with my feet, they hurt and burn constantly. I would go to the doctor for help, but I'm currently without medical insurance. Usually I take two tylenol which are 500mg each. Will taking another be dangerous? I don't want to accidently overdose.

Ever since I woke up this morning my thumb has been numb. At first I thought it was the way I had slept and maybe I had cut the circulation off but as the day has gone by my thumb still feels tingly and numb, that same feeling you get when your foot falls asleep but in my thumb. It won't go away. Does anyone have any clue why this is?
