General Health Care - August 2006

Yesterday I went to a wake/funeral and I cried a lot ... after maybe a 1/2 hour of being there the left side of my head began to hurt starting above my eyebrow shooting to the back of my head. I took 3 advils and the pain subsided enough for me to sleep but when I woke up for work it was back and worse. I took six advil already and it is still there. I am work now...should I visit the emergancy room when I get off or is there not much they can do?

In anticipation of an injury settlement offer regarding a slip and fall injury within a grocery store, I am interested in the ramifications of accepting a settlement. Our medical insurance company will be reimbursed upon settlement for expenses they have paid to date. My concern is will our medical insurance pay any further claims related to this injury once we have accepted a settlement from the grocer. Our attorney is all in favor of accepting a settlement and does not foresee a problem with the insurance covering any future claims that are as a result of the slip and fall. Of course the attorney wants us to settle, money in his pocket. The injured party has already had a procedure done on her lower back which has given her significant relief. However, it still flares up on occasion and we feel it is not a question of if she will need further medical intervention, but when. Any advice from those that are in the know about such things will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I've heard these things evolve out of eating dodgy pork and can grow up to 2 metres long INSIDE YOUR INTESTINES!!! The thought of it distresses me and I must check somehow before it comes dangling up through my throat or bursts out through my chest!!

7 weeks ago I fell down my cement steps outside, trying to bring my bike in out of the rain. fell down3 steps,&bike fell on top of my ribs. Was rushed to the hosp. ER and they said no broken ribs,just internal bruising. The pain only got worse & told my doc. I wanted another test. Bone scan revealed 3 fractured ribs. I fell 1 yr ago in the tub, again they said "Nothing wrong". Asked for MRI wich revealed 2 herniated disc and a bulge. Another time I slipped cleaning leaves off my pool cover in late Fall & my foot slammmed under the fence, couldn't walk. Their x-rays said No broken bones. I saw and Orthopedic doc next day who did his own x-rays & said every bone on the top of my foot was broken. Now, I found a lump in my breast, confirmed by my doc. Had mamogram & 2 techs found the lump. Got sent to ultra sound & he found the lumps location as well. radiol. said nothing to worry about. No lumps. I don't believe him. What would you do? Breast cancer very dominant in my fam.

I sneeze loads throughout the day whilst at work, but then not at all when I'm at home in the evenings or at weekends.

Thought it was an allergy to something at work, but having started a new job, it still happens.

What can it be? I can only think that I'm allergic to work and I'm pretty sure that's not a genuine allergy!

Spicy food, alcohol abstinence doesn't work. Hiccoughs occur suddenly, without warning. Have tried drinking plain water, taking sugar, plain rice to no effect. Please help.

I landed on my hamstring in an odd way, it felt like some one crumpled paper in my leg, should i get it checked out? i was able to walk and put pressue on it jog a little with no pain, but when i tried to sprint i felt a sharp pain. As soon as i got home i iced it and wrapped it, any insight?
