I have Ulcerative Colitis and just started my first treatment of Remicade (IV) yesterday, which will be given every 8 weeks instead of the medication I have been taking for the past 7 years. I have had Remicade infusions before but it was along with steroids. My question is asking if anyone knows how long it should take for the Remicade to start "healing" my flare-up. I have been bleeding for 2 weeks. Like I said, I have been responsive to Remicade before but it was along with steroids so I don't know which was working at what time. I am just now beginning the every 8 weeks treatment. Before, I was given 3 treatments at once, like they do for Crohn's patients.

I have tried nearly every antidepressant there is over the course of 7 years. When I first tried them they did wonders for my depression and anxiety. But the problem was that they all had side effects that were hard to live with. So I went from medication to medication with the hope of finding one that was effective AND had mild side effects. When I finally realized that no such antidepressant exists, I quit taking them. Then, about 8 months later, I realized that life was unbearable with my anxiety disorders and depression, and so I decided to go back to an antidepressant and just deal with the side effects. But, guess what? When I went back on Paxil (and loaded it in my system for 6 weeks) the effects were not even close to before! And this has happened with ALL antidepressants I've tried since!!! What happened? I can understand becoming immune or resistant to one medication, or even one whole class of medications (e.g., SSRI's), but ALL antidepressants? How can this be possible?!!

I'm a 43 year old female and lately I've been concerned that I'm showing signs of MS. I'm in the right age group and all that stuff. I'm really healthy otherwise. I take vitamins daily and don't drink or smoke. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with their toenails, or does anyone know if it's a sign of something more serious. God forbid, MS! Thanks for your input!

First.. our daughter got the chicken pocks last week. Then Sunday evening... our son burnt his hand on the the exhaust of a 4-wheeler. Then this week... my husband was hospitalized with the "Flesh-Eating Virus." Ya know... that yucky (nasty) stuff that you only see on the Discovery Channel (we're home now, and he's doing better)!!

I have been getting tired alot lately, I seem to sleep more that normal and its been going on for about 2 weeks now. I have been to the dr. and had all kind of blood work done and CT scans. I thought possibly anemia, but that not it. I am in good shape and exercise regularly but seem to be gaining weight even though i don't eat more than normal, also started getting constipated too. Any clues?
