For around 2 months now, I have experienced left side chest pain and sometimes left arm pain (either in my shoulder or my forearm). Since one month ago, I also have had some pain in my upper back (bellow and between my shoulder blades). The pain in my chest is kinda sharp and I can localize it. Also, it doesn't get worse when i breathr. I also feel kind of dizzy or weakened sometimes. Still I have had 2 EKG-s (both normal), I went to a cardiologist (he checked me out and said my heart isn't the problem) and I have had my blood checked (normal as well). My heart rate at rest is around 56 bpm (sometimes lower, sometimes higher) but goes up normally after physical activities. I am 23 of age, I DON"T SMOKE and I am a fairly active person. My doc also said it could be something to do with my spine (due to wrong postures) but I don't know what I should do next. Any ideas?

Thanks so much for the many replies nearly all of which gave terrible details of the effects these drugs can have on liver/brain/muscles. Is there anybody out there who is taking statins successfully without side effects?

Ive been short of breath for like 2 years and ive been getting light headed, ive some dull achy pain occasionaly that last like 2-3 min. and i did a whole bunch of test and everything was normal except my heart monitor showed my resting heart rate at 114 and the highest it got was 158 ( and that was with very very minimul activity, i only went to the store with my mom) and then i had an echo done today and the tech. couldnt tell me anything because my doc. is suppost to but this is what he wrote under comment. ejection fraction 55%, tachycardia with irregularity and possible left atrial compression, can anyone tell me what that acctual means? thank you :)

My dad is having a stint put in for blockage tommorow. I'd like to go by their house while he's in the hospital and make sure they have everything they need when they get back. They live in the country so the less my mom would have to leave him to come to town the better. Aside from meals and regular groceries is there anything he'll need for the pain etc? Ice packs?? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Five clear plastic, perfectly crafted demonstration models are made for educational purposes, with special attention being paid to the accuracy and detail of the complete cardiovascular system. Each has an identical heart, beating at a controlled steady 73 bpm, delivering 5 litres/min total systemic flow round the loop. All other details are completely uniform APART FROM the five aortas and principal arteries, large and small, as far down as the brachial arteries.

For interest's sake, one of the models has perfect normal (i.e., young and healthy) elasticity for its aorta and arteries.

Two others have theirs made of (a) much less compliant plastic and (b) much more compliant plastic.

The fourth has its aorta and arteries made from virtually non-compliant plastic, and (you guessed!) the fifth has its made of something like condom latex..

So, five perfect, uniform models, all having blood ejected from the ventricle at the same pressure.

What will the brachial B/P's be?

Hi all sufferers
I am 51 years young
I play competitive tennis to a good standard three times a week, I also work out in a gym and am an active father of three.
I originally had my bout of irregular heart beats some 15 yrs now. I have had ECG echo grammes and blood tests all ok, apart from slow thyroid and occasional high blood pressure which is being controlled.
I can go weeks clear of missed beats but then, mainly whilst resting and for no reason off they go, My heart rate is normally between 50 and 60 then I would miss and gain, sometimes the heart slows 1 in 4. I use to panick but it has become part of life, but the uncertainty is always there. My physical well being is my guideline, Providing I can keep playing without any obstructions then I feel i`m ok well I hope I am

So yeah I want another baby but soo scared, its a health issure. I have hypertension I got preclampsia when i was 8 mnths preggers and it never went away after I had him and developed hypertension not to mention I have an irregular heart beat now. I'm 5'4 and 290 last time I checked. My hubby want to try to have a girl and I've been wanting one because I really dont want to have one 5 or so yrs later i dont want my children that far apart, and my poor son has been saying mommy why dont I have a brother cause he sees all his lil friends with one and i feel bad. I was thinking about going to the doc and having test ran to see if it would be ok but they told be before it prob wasnt a good idea so i'm kinda crushed i've heard of plenty of ppl saying they had good pregnancies and they just changed their BP mediceine to something that wasnt harmfull to the baby, I just dont want to get toxemia or anything if I do but i figured if i was on BPM i wouldnt right? And I have so much scar tissure from my c-section the after i had him gallbladder surgery that it pulls on my stomach and u cant touch under my belly button on my tummy without sending pains so then i wonder if i preggers and the baby kicks will it hurt since i have so much scar tissure? sorry this is so long i just dont know what to do?
