Yes suprisingly it is, Its found mostly in older people. Its call Broken Heart Syndrome. Its been a focus on several tv shows both fictional and non fictional. From what I understand with not alot of medical knowledge is that the brain pretty much tries kills the heart due to a great loss. At an older age the heart is not strong enough to fight back, and ceases to pump blood to the body. It occures but Doctors dont have know exactly how yet. There are actually a fair amount of cases that have occured. It's a romantic notion in the end that someone meant that much to you.

Actually the Correct Answer is YES......It's the symptoms that come on after losing someone very dear to you and IF you already have a heart condition...The extra Stress on your heart can actually weaken it and can trigger an Abnormal Heart Rate resulting in Death....

At a young age- no. However, it happens quite often that with a long-married couple- when one spouse dies- the other will follow in a year or two. But then again, when you're talking about people in their 70-80s - there are usually other health problems involved.

I have often wondered. My third grade teacher did I think. Her husband died suddenly from of all things a spider bite. She was to retire after the school year. She never made it. About 2 months after husband passed she also died. I often wondered if she simply could not or would not continue without him.
