My dad is having a stint put in for blockage tommorow. I'd like to go by their house while he's in the hospital and make sure they have everything they need when they get back. They live in the country so the less my mom would have to leave him to come to town the better. Aside from meals and regular groceries is there anything he'll need for the pain etc? Ice packs?? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!!

He doesn't need anything. He can go on about life like normal after the surgery. He may be a little sore in the chest area but that is it. He can do whatever he wants to after the surgery so long as he doesn't over do it the first couple of days.

A real change in diet and lifestyle, the matter that clogs arteries is living tissue not concrete and therefore can heal given the right environment. To clean up arteries a very low-fat, no-cholesterol diet should be followed strictly. Remember how we got here and that big changes will yield big results.

Best of Luck to your Dad

Very little for a stent insertion.

Frozen veggies work well for an ice pack, and not much pain at all. He needs to know not to roll on top of the bandage on his hip. But they'll tell him, and it will hurt if he does.

No heavy lifting or straining, otherwise back to normal.
