My friend is suffering from diabetes and can't afford her meds. She has insurance but even still the medicine is over $275 a month. She is single and is working 2 jobs now just to get by. She is on pills and shots. Is there a program that will help her with the costs even though she has insurance? Also, are there any good alternative meds out there that might be just as affective and safe but don't cost as much? FYI she lives in Texas.

Hillary Clinton asks about breast cancer. What about finding a cure for diabetes which has been killing more poeple since the beginning of time. If there was something I could do, I would. But I believe you need to have lots of money to even be heeard when it comes to things like this.

I'm having a little trouble with my blood pressure, it's a little high which is unsual. I asked the doctor friday to check to see if I had diabetes, after the appointment. I went to go pick up medication for something else, and while i was waiting. I went to play on those blood pressure machines in the store, and it said dyostolic was 128 on the yellow bar saying prehypertension. Then today monday morning I call on my answering machine from my doctor saying, it was a little high. I am 23 is this the wrong ago to have diabetes?

I am a diabetic that cannot get coverage because of pre-existing. I have high blood pressure and I am out of my medication. I need money to go to a doctor but I need to get blood test for the diabetes. I make just above minmum wage and my state doesn't help with medical unless your a child or you are pregnant. Soon I will be out of the other medications that I need. I can get help with medications but cannot afford to go to the doctor for all my needs. I have over 100,000.00 in medicaal bills in just 1 year alone and I miss work because I get sick because I am out of medication. I know I am not the only person going through this but people like me that have to continue on this road die sooner then they shoud!!!

My 5 hr gluscose testing showed high results. 318 after 1 hour. My primary care doc stinks. It was my eye doc that took the right test. I would change docs' in a heartbeat but I am disabled and on medicaid. Everyone hates medicaid. I can't same I blame them but then I fall between the cracks. What am I to do? Homeopathic self care. I am loaded with meds from the ER that upset my stomach. Why should I keep taking pain meds before this blood sugar roller coaster is addressed? Healthcare where I live is the worst I have ever seen. My daughter of 23 died almost four years ago here. She was misdiagnosed. No, I didn't sue. No money would ever cure my heart. It will be broken forever. My two grand children need me and that is why I am reaching out for help. I have had Epstein barr titer flag for 4 years, and high sugar levels that drop to moderately low levels. My pain in the l leg has gotton so bad I can only use it for half a day without an aid. I stopped all meds. My stomach loves me.

I've felt crummy for the past 8 years or so. I'm 23 and in the last year have gained about 40 lbs - no change in diet or routine. I'm always tired-sometimes downright exhousted, always feel slightly nauseated, thirsty, lately I've had to pee alot more than I used to, I get flash headaches (gone within 30 seconds) and have heartburn about every other day, to a point I have to pop a couple tums which is losing its effect. My dad is a type II diabetic controlled by pills.

I've gone to the doctore several times because of the way I feel thinking maybe I have mono or something and they always just tell me to take vitamins and excercise. I'm exercising at least every other day now but no change yet.

Should I wait a few more months and see if I begin to feel better?

I feel stupid asking this on Yahoo! Answers but my parents think I'm a hypocondriac (from always trying to figure out why I feel like crap) and I hate going to the doctor...

Ugh, help??

I read that a diabetic can donate blood as long as they are in control of the disease and never taken bovine insulin.
My question is does donating blood alter your sugar levels????
