From experience, there are herbal alternatives that do work - on a short term only and results may vary from one person to another. Just remember that wroked for others might not work for you. For me it did not.

lots and lots of factors involved. Even prescribed medicine will not work well if the person does not take care of himself well.

My final word: be careful about what is said about herbal medicine as a cure to diabetes. There's a lot of crap out there.

every single case is different, if these herbs and whatever were legitimate solutions, everyone would be taking them. Type 1 diabetic no way it will help sufficiently, type 2 might have about 6 different pathways to find a good solution, all involving different levels of diet, exercise, medication, and medical care.

I have just been diagnosed diabetic and depending on the type of diabetes and how bad it is I would agree entirely with the first person to answer your question. However it should be monitored and medical advice followed.

Yes, with diet and exercise. My former husband did not use any medication, only diet and exercise and achieved total control of his levels into the normal level, even though he had been "diagnosed" with diabetes. But not with pills, it was control of diet and exercise, actually mostly diet.
