It varies depending on the age, size and how active the person. No two are the same.

There is no set rule. The total amount of daily carbohydrates as well as the per meal total carbohydrates for a Type I will vary based on:
age of the Type I (i.e., a 5 yr old with Type I requires less than a busy Type I teenager or Type I adult);
activity level;
daily insulin dose;
overall health; and
weight;
among other issues.
If you would like to have some food giveaways at your booth, the best things are those that are naturally low in carbs. Roasted almonds and other nuts are tasty and low carb; popcorn is another good option.
Stay away from anything labeled "low carb." Those products are based on the Atkins definition of "low carb." What Atkins considers low carb is great for Type IIs and anyone who wants to lose weight, but the carbs they don't count DO add up for Type Is.

This is what we diabetics call, YMMV (your mileage may vary). One can calculate this information based on weight and daily caloric intake.
Personally, I try limit my carb intake to 50 grams max at a sitting; however, there are some that like the 'low carb' diet, so this might be way too much for them.
There is a table on how to calculate this in the "Pumping Insulin" book, listed on amazon.com, below.

In medical terms It doesnt really matter as long as its the right type of carbohydrate and the right dose of insulin has been administered - If you eat any fast acting carbs (ie white bread, crisps, ect ect) and inject to much then your gonna have a big fat crash where as if you eat wholemeal carbs then the energy is released slowly thus avoiding peaks or crashes.
