She has an oblong lump behind the nipple, started out about an inch long, maybe 1/4 inch wide. It has doubled it's size in 1 week. She's sceduled for an ultrasound late this week, but the doctor won't tell us what he suspects it may be. What are the odds of cancer? Does cancer usually grow that quickly? My grandfather died at age 45 from lymphatic cancer....how concerned should I be at this point?

My doctor said that I have a cyst, but she didn't elaborate. She didn't suggest an ultrasound or mamogram, or any treatment. She just said to avoid caffiene, because that could make the cysts hurt. Should I do something about this? Should mydoctor have done something else? I am in my late 20s, but breast cancer runs in my family.

I have been really worried and i am going to have bld tests. My problem is I havent had a period in 3 months and my lower pelvic region aswell as back is just aching severly. I am only 26 yrs old and the doctor is running tests for all types of things. I am curious if anyone on here knows first hand on symptoms of early ovarian cancer. I keep hearing that you cant get it unless your over 40...is it possible to get cancer at a young age? I know I will find out sooner or later what is wrong but I just feel like talking about it with ppl who may have some insight.

My unlce, which is 39 and has two wonderful kids, and a loving wife, has just be diagnosed with stomach cancer. He went into his operation just yesterday in the morning , in hope of being relieved of this. The doctors couldn't stop it cause it has been spread out too much, they give him 2-3months to live, and apparently he had this for 6 years now, but no one has ever known neither has he and neither has his fmaily doctor.

When my uncle woke up for the operation, he thought everything was fine. We're still undecided if we should tell him or not about the news. he seems to be eatting perfectly, but thats because he can't feel anything right now from the head below. anyways i was wondering if there was any way... like any other way this cancer could be cured, or just for him to live alittle bit more longer. His kids are 8 and 3yrsold. and you know with children they don't remeber the first 4 years of their lives.

we just need a miracle i guess...

I am extremely grateful to each one of you for the support you have given me.I went to the Doctor this morning peering down my throat he found a growth and got me to get a MRI. As it turns out, the cancer has returned. The biggest problem is that during the course of my treatment, I received a massive dose of radiation( double of what a person can withstand in his whole life). My MRI was a must but under normal circumstances even an x-ray could prove fatal. Chemo is going to be of no help and there is no question of surgery. My treating doctor is very fond of me as it seems I liven up the hospital and is very frank with me. Now as it stands I have cancer, a time period to live, no voice, no food passage and still have the responsibilty to look after my mother, wife and two teenaged sons. I accepted the verdict very normally as I know there is nothing I or anyone can do. I have lived an extraordinary life and have no regrets. I have ensured that noone in the family will lack anything.

i was diagnoised with Prostate cancer 18 months ago. i had an biopsy done and out of 12 biops only 1 cancer cell showed up. I have recentely lost my urologist due to insurance. He explained everything too me and for forty-five minutes I listened along with two of my children. After all was said and done I decided on the "wait & watch". He said something else may kill me before my prostate cancer. He said if a male lives long enough he will have "prostate cancer".

Now to the new Doctor, a Navy Dr. that I am not thrilled about. First of he does not believe in the "Wait & watch" theory. In December he wants to do another biopsy regardless what my PSA level reads. My PSA was 5.2 last examination, and anything over 4.0 you should have a biopsy.

This Navy Doctor does not believe in the "watch & wait". He wants to do another biopsy regardless what my PSA level is

Should I go see my original Urologist even though I want be covered with Insurace; i.e. just for a second opinion.
