I would like to put on some kind of fundraiser at my school. All the funds would probaly go to breast cancer or child's cancer. I need some ideas whether it's selling homemade items or just taking donations. It can't be too pricey though because then the kids won't buy the items, and I need to be able to afford whatever I do.

After i had I 131 radiation therapy for thryoid cancer, I had a scan done to look for any uptake. There was some uptake found in my liver and kidneys. I don't understand what that means. I don't understand my doctors accent, and have no clue what he was trying to explain to me.

I am going to the doctor to have it checked but just wondered if anyone knows anything about this. I have a small white spot under my right eye. I've had it for a really long time but it seems to be getting bigger. It's raised a little bit. Not like a zit or anything. It's just lighter than the rest of my skin.

per set. After the first set of chemo, they said there looks like I might also have a small suspicious looking tumor in the back lobe of my brain. At this point the doc doesn't know. My question is, after the last set, which was 2wks ago, I have had swollen ankles, and feel a little dizzy and my eyes feel blury sometimes. Has anyone else had those systems? I go for my second set of scans this weekend. I pray everything is looking better.

I've been told that Ovarian Cancer is to a woman as Prostate Cancer is to a man. If that is true, then I think that my health insurance company is guilty of discrimination. But I am not an authority that can make that judgement. I am wondering if it would be worth my time to start a lawsuit against any big health insurance company for this issue. I do not have the money for something like that and would need a really good attorney that would be willing to do this for free. Any suggestions? (PS. I've been having pains in the lower groin area and no doctor that I've been to has said anything about O.C. except one that said the test is not covered. I think it is the CA-125 test.)

Back in June we found out that my father has brain cancer. He originally had melanoma which then spread to the rest of his body, but the brain is the doctors' main focus. In July he had a Grand Mal seizure and was hospitalized for some time, then went to a nursing home for about 6 weeks while he underwent radiation therapy. He is now at home with me and I am caring for him 24/7. He's also currently taking Temodar (chemo) but the doctors are not very optimistic. I am just wondering what is to come, what do I need to be thinking about? What will happen mentally and physically to him? How do I know when things are really getting bad? I have a little bit, but not much of an idea of what will happen, as he already is having short term memory loss, vision loss, etc. I am interested in hearing from people who have been through this before with their own families. Thanks!
