You most likely contracted the HPV virus at some point and will now get your pap smears every six months to be sure the cervical cancer doesn't come back.
As long as you keep your appointments, you'll be just fine!

Yes my best friend did. The first doctor said there was nothing that could be done and that she will never have kids. She got a second opinion and had surgery, now I have two beautiful godsons Jared and Jordan who are 1 and 3!!!!!

I had it, I found out at about your age and I didn't do anything about it for a couple years, then I got a biopsy, that was almost 20 years ago. I'm cancer free.

Twice in my life I have had abnormal cells that were lasered off, or more recently LEEP. It was caught early and it had been left untreated, it may have led to cancer. That is why Pap smears are so important, if caught early, it is easily treatable.

The earliest I have seen was carcinoma in situ in a pregnant woman in her late twenties. This was not invasive ca and she delivered normally.
