I would like to put on some kind of fundraiser at my school. All the funds would probaly go to breast cancer or child's cancer. I need some ideas whether it's selling homemade items or just taking donations. It can't be too pricey though because then the kids won't buy the items, and I need to be able to afford whatever I do.

Are their any websites that would donate FREE or very inexpensive cancer awareness items like pencils, braclets, ribbons, etc?

do a pop can drive, they did this at my childs grade school, it was called the "rat race" each class had to collect as many pop cans as possible in 6 weeks then at the end what ever class had the most got t shirts and a pizza party so if the school is older kids change the prize and instead of class change it to homeroom or somthing. now our "rat race" was very small the grade school about 500 kids but it purchased our school 6 computers a parking lot and a glass court yard with lots of butterflies. now mabey your state doesn't have deposits on their pop but you could chane it to a "dime race" or "a dollar race" what ever you see fit.

I don't know if you would like the idea but I sponser fundraisers for many different organizations. I would be happy to specialize a fundraiser for you as well. There would be no up-front costs and if you only sold one set you would earn a profit. But instead of just selling to the kids at school have a group of kids sell to their friends and family. Then donate the profits to the charity.

What I do and have found it to be very successful is Mary Kay Satin Hands Set. The organization receives $11.35 of every item sold. To break it down if there are 100 kids selling the item and each one sells ONLY 2 the profit for the organization would be $2,270! Two sets per person is a very achievable goal as there is mom and grandma that usually buy at least one. Plus with the time of the year this set makes an excellent gift for Christmas. Mary Kay is a very well known product and it really sells itself. If you would like me to get you going with this exciting fundraiser let me know. You can contact me at shawndalyn_clark@yahoo.com.

Sure! You can hold a book drive. Ask people to donate good used books then sell them. A bake sale. Wash cars! Ask others to put their help in and have a spaghetti diner. Have a large garage sale. Again, ask people donate good condition goods and have like a garage sale. Hold a marathon. Ask people to join and then they go around and ask for pledges, and they get so much money per lap or for the total marathon. Then go around and ask for businesses to donate a product for prizes to the winners of the marathon. There are a lot of options, just open your mind up and it will come! Good luck and thank you for doing something for a great cause!

It wasn't easy to find, but this seems like a pretty good website. not only can you do breast cancer awareness, but domestic abuse awareness, also October, and other cancers and abuse awareness. http://www.needpromos.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=16

This website gives you the break down of different awarenesses by month: http://aware.easilyamused.org/

Finally, this website gives you the meaning of the ribbon colors: http://www.craftsnscraps.com/jewelry/ribbons.html

Good luck on doing something really great!

Have a bake sale, ask some of the students to donate a baked good, or the parents. and sell them during lunch time. You will need permission to due so. But get the bake goods donated and sell them. Maybe even ask some of the teachers to donate some baked goods. You can even go to a bakery and ask if they could donated their day old bake goods for the cause.

Most schools sell pink ribbons for breast cancer fundraising. You could also try making cupcakes. It also helps your cause to be connected with a survivor of cancer or someone that needs the money for chemotherapy. That will help increase your fundraising as it will connect the community with someone they know.

A good way and also not very expensive would be a bake sale or maybe talk with others about a raffle. Maybe someone could make a nice quilt to be raffled off or something. Or even a car wash. Good luck

Ask others for donations and then sell them. candies, candy, or perhaps some thing like a sprint pin to bear in recommendations the day. Shirts are yet another stable sell, their basic to get and basic to make money with, and you're able to get a sponsor to pay for them.
