I removed my two posts I had before. I want to thank the ones that were sincere. I believe in prayer and I hope you will all continue praying for me and my daughter. Oh, and yes my husband is dying of Cancer. I am at home watching him sleep, sometimes it just gets to be too much. You come out to a site like this (brainless site) and it is a relief sometimes. Why are some of you so cruel?

I am grew up in a home of smokers until I was 20. Just wondered if the exposure during my early years would increase a chance of lung cancer later in life. I am 35 now.

In other words, excluding a very bloody bowel movement, what is the other common complain that people who are then diagnosed with colorectal cancer, brought to the doctor, since blood in the stool can be caused by many things and 99 percent of the time is diagnosed as something other than cancer ( although blood in the stool you should ALWAYS see a doctor no matter what)...Anyways i had a friend who had constant diahrrea, and he was getting it everyday for a while, and his bowel movements where in crazy amounts daily...like 4-6 plus in a day, everyday in the form of diahrreah...so i was just wondering..he was also a rare case as he is under 30 years of age!!( and 90-95% of colon cancer patients are aged 50 or older statistically) , but is fine now though thanks to modern medicine. anyways this has been on my mind lately, and im pretty young to think of this stuff as my doctor told me ...(19), but i always worry about this stuff for some reason.

I have read in a pamphlet given to me at school that 1 joint contains enough harmful materials as 12 cigarettes. Thus the chance of getting lung cancer is higher. Is this true? I have read numerous Q & A's on this site that say otherwise.

My dad had oral cancer and recieved radiation to his neck and mouth. Now he has to eat through a tube because he cannot swallow anything. He continually has to spit because he can't even pass what little saliva he has. He doesn't have any problems breathing and he doesn't feel any pain when he attempts to swallow, but he just can't do it. When we asked the doctor, he said it was just a matter of time before my dad got better. That was nine months ago, and there's practically no improvement. Is there anything that can make the healing process go by faster, or is there a possibility that the damage to his throat is permanent? What kind of treatment could help open up his throat?

In August 2004 his ankles swelled and became black & blue. There was a pungent odor from his feet and his flatulance. The doctor concentrated on Congetive Heart failure but came up inconclusive. Nothing was done, not even an antibiotic. On Nov. 3rd 2006 he went for a routine checkup for feeling weak. They found his red and white blood count down. By Dec 3rd his kidneys failed, liver failed, his blood had become poison and it attacked his cerebrum. the Dr claims from the bone marrow biopsy the cancer had consumed 80% of his body. I don't see how a healthy 49 y.o. man can walk in a hospital and 30 days later be gone with such a severe prognosis unless the swelling of his ankles was the initial warning and the doctor never checked for this. He never had a fighting chance to begin chemo before he died. Does anyone out there know how long it would have taken for Lymphoma to become that devastating to his body?

Hi there, am having a tough time with this one. I donated my bone marrow to a 17 year old boy with leukemia a couple years ago and found out recently that he's had a relapse and that my marrow didn't work. It was also recently that I was given his information and he was given mine (this process is usually anonymous for at least a year after donation). It breaks my heart to think what he and his family are going through. And I feel incredibly selfish, guilty and cowardly, because I'm afraid if I call, they might ask me to donate again. I know it small of me to think of it. But it was a very painful procedure for me. I can't bear the idea of saying "no" if they ask. Yet, I don't know how much longer my recipient will live and whether I should call and say hi and show that I do care despite this.

Not sure what to do, I feel time is running out. But don't know if I should give them space. Please help.

Mam got breast cancer 2 year ago and survived I later learned that My gran (breast) and grandad (stomach) died from it as well. Since then I have had a massive in fear of cancer as I have learned about the 1 in 3 stat at any age which I am very concerned about. This stat plagues my every thought and I have dropped all plans of getting married and having kids as I fear for my future and bringing kids into a gamble like that especially as breast cancer looks genetic.

Is this a phoeba or madness? please be serious.

Cancers can happen at any age at any time so if you have a none smoking 21 year old with lung cancer and an 80 a day 80 year old none sufferer both with no family history. Why doesnt the 80 year old get it first? Same goes for any other cancer. I Hear about colon cancer in healthy 20 year olds with no family history and old unhealthy people with history that dont get it.

Is cancer really about bad luck instead of diet, habits and history?
