I would very much like to start making wuilts. It is something that has interested me for a long time. I would like people's opinions who have done it- is it diffucult? I have a sewing machine and would consider myself at beginner level. If it is difficult, what are some easy projects that i could start with to build my skills? Thanks in advance!

She's 32 and artsy. She works for a Union in Seattle and is currently vacationing in rural Costa Rica. She does pottery and plays the violin. She speaks some Japanese and spent a year there. So, you kinda get the idea of what she is like. I just thought it'd be really sweet to gather pictures of us growing up together and kind of organize them to themes and making a scapbook looks fun! I think I could make it artsy and not soo cheesy, right? Any suggestions? It would be my first scrapbook. She is very sentimental so maybe she'd think it was sweet! I thought I'd kinda make it a "Sisters" theme. What do you think? I mean I don't want to use like lots of pink and put cutesy little stuff all over but I think I can be creative and make it look really artistic? THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE!

I'm talking about the ones he wears in blue and white clothes. The blue and white arm warmer looking things and the leg bandage things. I don't want to buy them and I know how to sew so i could probably make them, but I don't know how. As for the legs I don't really want to wrap bandages round my legs. I was hoping for something like a piece of cloth or something and just pull that onto my legs instead of bandages. Anyone please help I need them by 2-3weeks.

I wanna start selling my own greeting cards to make some extra money but I've found thousands of books and I don't really know which one to buy or how can I choose the best one.
More than examples of how others use their creativity, I would like to know the techniques, tools and everything I need to know about this craft.
I've found many books with steps by steps on how to create greeting cards with stainglass technique or things like that but I want more of a "bible" like for the greeting card maker.

I made the slpknot but i'm not sure imade it right, i'm just trying to make a basic chain, but the instructions i have aren't worth a crap.. they're confusing, if anyone knows how to explain them better, or a site to show me how to do it in a very crochet newbie way, that would be great..

http://www.oogalights.com/Autumn-Yarn-Ball-Party-String-Lights.aspx

Those are pretty similar to the ones that I want to make except I want to use a different kind of yarn (something similar to this kind of texture and size (http://www.theyarnco.com/brand_display/251 )

In any case, I have no idea how to start with this project. I was thinking of going out and buying a string of christmas lights (white cord, clear bulb), then finding some clear baubles, trying to wind yarn around those and finally mount those baubles somehow to the string of lights. Anyway, i don't know if there is something I should be looking for or a method of mounting the lights, etc. Any advice would be appreciated.

I cut some squares and twisted them down in the middle. Then wired them together and inserted them into the tree. It was very simple. Now I'm looking for something else to do with the netting. It's really thick, plastic and about 3 feet wide. Red in color. Any ideas?

I'm a graphic designer and photographer and would like to attend a crafts fair that allows photographers to sell their prints. I've never sold my prints to the public before so I was wondering if there was anyone out there that would have some advice for a crafts fair newbie?

For example, what size prints should I offer, how many of each should I anticipate on bringing, things like that.

I've done tradeshows before for my design biz, but actually having a tangible product to sell is new to me.

I've been using Gallery Glass simulated liquid lead, which is lead free, but it's difficult to use. I am looking for leading strips that are similar to the real thing but do not actually contain lead.
