Were people really filing down coins to get dust that is worth money? That dust couldn't have been worth much?

I had a bouquet of bright, vibrant Gerb daisies for my wedding. I wanted originally to have them preserved, but every floral preservation place I talked to basically made it sound like it was going to be ridiculously expensive. So I decided to take it on my own to pop the heads off the daisies and use the microwaveable silica gel to dry them so I could put them in a shadow box. But when I did that, it made the daisies look really country... the magenta turned reddish brown, the white turned yellow and and the sunshine orange turned almost brown. I am most definitely NOT a country decor sort of gal - I didn't even like the idea of DRYING them in the first place... I have 4 daisies left in perfect condition still that have been in water on my desk at work... I am dreading losing them... Is there ANY way to preserve them - and the BEAUTIFUL color that they are or am I just SOL?? If I'm SOL, I'll just go to the craft store and find silks and dry a couple heads to save in a scrapbook. HELP!

Does anyone have any ideas for decorating the tshirt after sewing a gathered cotton skirt onto the bottom? I am doing three of these for my granddaughter that will be starting Pre-K. I plan to applique a heart with ruffle onto one. And a neckerchief, fastened at the shoulder, onto another. But, i need a third idea. I did somem searching online, but guess I got stuck...I didn't come up with anything new. Thanks!

I am trying to sell a huge extensive knife collection, bulk, worth over $50,000. The cost is only $11,000. My employer is disabled so the collection will HAVE to be picked up and shipped away by the buyer. Advanced viewing is permitted by appointment. The location is Flushing Queens, NY. My employer is moving out of state very soon and needs to sell her extensive knife collection (bulk only) ASAP. Photographs and details available by request. I've already posted an ad on Craigslist but within minutes my ad was buried among hundreds of others and I cannot post another one for 7 days it said. Does anyone know of any websites or local places I could try, who would buy? It's an incredible deal. Thanks.

I'm building the diorama for Omaha Beach landing (similar to Saving Private Ryan movie). What is the color of the soldier uniform? I already used Olive Drab for the pants. What about the jacket?
