How hard is it to learn to make native american wood flutes? Do you need a shop with lots of equipment?

In other words, is this a hobby that you could take up living in a city apartment with no room for giant saws and equipment? :D

I started out with bamboo flutes. I used a piece of steel i found in an abandoned stroller. The bar that holds the back wheels on. Works just find. Heat the steel, burn the holes through.

There were NO flutes Pre Contact.

I have a friend that makes flutes from kits, and all he has is his trusty Dremel.

If you want to get fancy and do it yourself out of heart wood, Then you'll need a table saw and a deck router. for sure.

I don't know how hard it is to do, but how much shop space and equipment did the native Americans have to make them with?
