I know how to do the one with the diagonal lines but I want to learn how to do the one with "V"s.

I do not have a link bookmarked, but I am sure there are some on the web too.

Start as usual, and make sure you have at least 8 strings to work with.
Start in the middle, and work the forward knot on the one side, and use the back ward knot on the other.
Next row you again start in the middle, making sure you use one string that used to be on the other side. (And one string from the side you are on now will go to the other side.)

I would check the Klutz series of books. They have one for friendship bracelets that has the pattern you are looking for. I can tell you that it uses 6 or 8 strands of yarn, two of either 3 or 4 colors.

You could probably find a book that will show you several ways to make them at Wal-Mart if you have one in your area.
