I can not find any listings of such a coin any where. I know some error coins go for quit a lot.

It’s not toned, the coin has been circulated and I have inspected it with a magnifying glass.

I doubt the quarter is made of bronze. However, there were some quarters that were very cheaply gold plated. Could that be it? If so, they're really not worth much.

To be sure take it to a coin dealer. They could tell you so much more by being able to see and hold it.

Sorry there is no such thing. It may have one layer missing of the copper nickel so the copper center shows, but two missing would make the coin real thin and would screw up the coin press. If it is the regular size and thickness of a quarter then someone plated it. It is not uncommon for school chemistry classes to do it. It is not a mint error and never left the mint that way that is why you can not find a listing for it. At least you have a conversation piece.
