My nephew is getting married and I am one of twenty some people who are pitching in on a quilt. They are getting married at Thornewood castle. The theme is Celtic/ Nordic .She suggests things like celtic knots or designs, mandala designs, celtic crosses runes, heather, animals like ravens or?... I'm thinking applique as I am familiar. Some will be doing embroidery or cross stitch but I don't do that. I could do something with gold braid maybe, in the designs of knots or patterns, maybe even paint. The date has already been claimed, asis thistle, trinity knot, Thors hammer. Maybe I could do heather?.... The quilt will be off white linen squares; a titch of the blue green tartan similar to the kilts (he is wearing a kilt!) and may be used as small border or divider, and the main wide border and back will be a beautiful amethyst9thistle) colored velveteen. Gold braid or trim will be used somewhere in the border or trim.
I am on a 2 week deadline. Please help!!!!!!!

No, I don't have one. I just heard that less than a dozen were made and wondering how much money I'd get if I found one in my basement or something. I'm not really a coin collector anyways, anyone out that familiar with coins?

I was recently in a t-shirt redesign contest and had a blast! They had a book to go by and now I want to find more designs. We cut up old t-shirts and made halter tops, bags and other fun shirts out of the old shirts. Now I want to find a book or a website that has instructions to making new shirts. Does anyone know of any? Or possibly know where I could find a book on it?

For my school service project I'm making a activity book for kids in the hospital to use. It's going to have coloring pages, and some word/number games. Any ideas for games or anything else that would be fun for kids I can include.

What kind of glue would you use to glue rhinestones to metal? The glue must be long lasting, and must not be rubbery (I don't want the rhinestones popping off). This is for a jewlery item, so the glue needs to dry clear.

Any ideas?

Any other methods to attach them?

I have an old sewing machine from the 60's. It is in amazing condtion, and came with all of the original stuff plus manual. I got it for like, 25 bucks at Goodwill. I was still considering buying a new one though. (This one weighs a TON!) I'm not sure if it was worth it, or if there were considerable enough advancements in sewings machines? Just curious as to everyone's thoughts....

Ok, so I just crocheted a small baby blanket that a little bigger than 1' X 1' -- and I just realized that I'd done it all wrong.

So, I was just looking for opinions on what stitch I should use to make a bigger & better baby blanket?
What stitch would be the easiest, quickest, & most effective??

Thanks!
