Go to the public library or to a coin shop and get a Yeoman Redbook for US coins and a "Standard Catalog of World Coins" published by Krause for foreign coins.

You may also wish to ask for advice in one of Yahoo's coin groups in Yahoo Groups but expect that members of those groups will wish to see a good scan of any coins in question as things such as grade will make a difference in what they are worth and older does not = rare or valuable.

The coin economic enterprise incorporates 13 dimes and 10 quarters form of dimes = x form of quarters = y (x * 0.10) + (y * 0.25) = 3.80 (4 * x ) + (10 * y ) = 152 x + y = 23 x = 23 - y 4x = ninety two - 4y ninety two - 4y + 10y = 152 6y=60 so y = 10 and subsequently x = 13 --------------------------------------... The rectangle is 22 inches long and six inches extensive 2 * length + 2 * width = fifty six length + width = 28 length = 4 + (3 * width) 4 + (3 * width) + width = 28 4 * width = 28 - 4 = 24 width = 6 length = 4 + (3 * 6) = 22 --------------------------------------... A pizza costs $12 and a salad costs $5 2 pizzas + a million salad = 29 so 4 pizzas + 2 salads = fifty 8 so 2 salads = fifty 8 - 4 pizzas 3 pizzas + 2 salads = 40 six 3 pizzas + fifty 8 - 4 pizzas = 40 six a million pizza = fifty 8 - 40 six = 12 2 pizzas + a million salad = 29 (2 * 12) + a million salad = 29 Salad = 29 - 24 = 5

A world coin web site would have to be huge and expensive to set up. I have 5 large books just to cover 1600-2006. That does not include books on ancients and medieval coins. As Jim said see if your library has the Krause/Mishler Standard Catalog of World Coins. Maybe a coin club near you, has a member that does. At times I think I have more money tied up in reference books than coins, in fact I just may. If it is only a few coins, I don't mind doing the research on them, but for a large amount, I just don't have the time. Check with your local coin dealer, he may not deal in world coins, but I bet he know who does and also which of his customers may have the knowledge or catalogs. My local dealer sends all the Oriental coin questions to me, as well as the world ones.
