Ok, so I just crocheted a small baby blanket that a little bigger than 1' X 1' -- and I just realized that I'd done it all wrong.

So, I was just looking for opinions on what stitch I should use to make a bigger & better baby blanket?
What stitch would be the easiest, quickest, & most effective??

The easiest way I've found is to make a chain as long as the width you want for the balnket. Fo a baby blanket usually 30-36 inches. The double crochet until the blanket is the lenght you want. Don't forget to make three chain stitches at the end of every row befor you turn and go the other way. Otherwise the width shrinks as you go along.

If you haven't ripped it out yet , why don't you just put a border around it. Depending on the pattern you used a shell stitch might do the trick. Crochet a double crochet around the whole thing then start you shell stitch. chain 3, 2 dc in same stitch *skip next stitch sc in next stitch skip next stitch 3 dc in next stitch** repeat from * to ** Will save you some time and your hard work won't go to waste. Make sure you do 3 set of shells in each corner so that it will remain square. Good luck.

You can either double crochet a huge square, or make a huge granny square. Or, make a lot of small 1X1 squares and stitch them together into a larger blanket.

It would depend on what stitches or pattern you were using so far? What thread and color were you using, is it for a boy or girl?

all you need to do is use larger yarn, larger hooks and double crochet back and forth till its as big as you want. it may not be fancy but its how my daughter learned to do her first one.
