I am currently sewing my Halloween costume, but the gold trim I'm using is too bright and shiny. Does anyone know what I could use to make it more dull and antiqued looking?

I was thinking there might be some sort of glaze, but wasn't sure what I could use. Thanks!!!

Im 15, male, and need a hobby. I play guitar and other instruments, but I kind of want to do something else besides music. Playing guitar all the time by yourself is boring. I need some ideas on stuff I can do to keep busy.

A friend had one in the eary 70's. Its beak woud go up and down in a glass of water that sat in front of it. It had a long beak and seemed like it was red and yellow. The water would evaporate and it looked like the bird drank it. Does anyone know what this was called and where you can find one?

I can't figure out an ending for this piece so any suggestion whould be helpful.

* TSK TSK*

How many times do I have to tell you
It was just one night, not for ever
Only a moment of hot steam pleasure
Ignited by the clubs rythms
a bit too much wine

The rythm of your hips, catalyst
smoldering eyes
the ache and shiver along my spine

Through arching, bending, breaking quivering
fevered-pulse
Never did I slip
mention your name
whisper sweet nothings
No not I

but pull , claw, hastily strip
hard and hungry
animal urge led
desire all chemical
lust

Feel free to tear it apart if you wish.

Also, what size needles should I work with? I usually cross stitch on a 22 count cloth with 2 strands of floss, but I am wondering if 2 will be too much on the 28. Also, I need a needle suggestion so I don't stretch out the cloth-thanks!

I'm knitting the Irish Creel bag from this book, and I can't figure out what is happening in the "Turning Ridge" part of the pattern. Does it start short rows or something? If anyone has the book or has knitted the pattern, please explain.

My grandfather posed for an Imperial Granum poster as a young boy in the early 1900's. He is in his mid-90's and we would love to find it, or a photo for him to see. I've been watching ebay for years now, with no luck. Thanks for any help tracking it down!

When men and woman around the age of sixteen, before the have met love, and understand it. Those children have not recognized that when you engage in love, you meet trouble. Young folk seems to think that love lasts forever, they have yet to learn the meaning of the word. However, They are correct if they seem to think forever is not very long.
