I get very angry at the lack of common sense used by our succsesive governments. We have a lottery fund that supports obscure organisations and individuals. Why is this fund not built as a disaster fund for the United Kingdom. This would mean those that suffer floods, terrorist attacks and other dreadful catastrophies would be protected. A panel of directors would distribute the financial aid. The public would buy more tickets when disaster strikes and we would have a more caring and less money grabbing society. The insurance companies would have less reason to increase our premiums each year and we would all be better off.

I recieved an Email saying that my Email address had been placed in a sweepstake by Microsoft and PBL Group, and I had won a cash prize from powerballlottery.dpt@yahoo.co.uk. It request my full name, address and telephone number, which I supplied. I then got another Email sayingThat everything was in order and that I am to go to London to collect my Prize, the address given is a P.O.Box in London. So I am wondering is this kosher or a scam? Is anything known about this?

It states my name was attached to the 6 digit ticket number, which was also printed in the letter, and it qualified for the 3rd prize category-a decent sum of money. I don't recall entering this sweepstakes nor do I live in the Phillipines.

If all slot/video poker machines are truly random, how does a machine stay random when it guarantees a jackpot to hit by a certain amount. If a jackpot is supposed to hit by lets say $1000.00 and has not by $990.00, it will obviously hit very soon. How can that be random?

It's played by putting a quarter or token into a slot. It falls into a playing field that has a mechanical wall that pushes the quarter in with other quarters already on the playing field. The point is to get your quarter to push other quarters over the ledge. If it falls over you keep the extra quarters! Does anyone know what it's called and where to buy one?
