I've just moved from the UK to the US, and would like to bake some pastry. Normally, I use Stork margarine and much prefer its flavour to that of butter or lard. Does anyone know of a US brand that is similar in flavour to Stork?

5 days ago I got a deer. It's been dressed, skinned, and quartered. The meat has been hanging for 5 days at 33 degrees. There is some loose hair on the muscle, and the outside surfaces of all the quarters are hard and leathery.

Do I put all this in the grinder or do I sort of shave off the leathery hairy portions of the meat first?

I live alone so grocery shopping and cooking has been difficult. I've been buying bagged lettuce mainly for use on sandwiches. Since I'm the only one using it goes bad so quickly! It seems like such a waste. Any recomendations?

Same problem w/ bread...I wish they sold smaller loafs.
