also, if its NOT legal. How can i get people that are smoking to put out their cigs if the bar owner or bartender doesn't care? I can't call the police, can i?

Why is smoking more acceptable than drinking, I don't smoke, I have two kids so I don't infest their lungs with smoke but everyone around me does smoke and looks down on me for having a beer-what gives??

I have an extremely high tolerance of alcohal, four - six of any time of drink doesn't even get me tipsy. So I don't drink to get drunk, my kids care is never in jeopardy and I usually do the drinking on the weekend, but there are occassions on a hot sunny day, I am outside drinking during the week day.

I am just curious on the double standard? You smoke to relax as do I with a cold bottle of beer/glass of wine.

When Scotch (or wine for the matter) was being made, who was person who thought to themselves,"Why don't I just let this stuff sit here in the cask for 12-60 years?" Now thats patience. How does one come up with this idea?

We aren't much of wine, or champagne, drinkers so I need some help. We are on a budget and trying to keep things simple. We are having baked cod, chicken cordon bleu and roast beef au jus or pork tenderloin as our main course buffet. We expect around 100 guests, with about half of them drinking, probably more beer and mixed drinks than anything else.

I am getting a bottle of Asti champagne for the bridal party. Do I need to get something for the rest of the guests to toast with? Just family or everyone? What do you recommend that is cheap?

What kind of wines do you recommend we serve?

I drink a 750ml bottle of red cabernet shiraz (14%) wine most evenings, I dont have a hangover the next day and dont care if I go a week without the wine so I know Im not an alcoholic but is it safe to drink a bottle of red each night?

Trouble is I get terrible hangovers so to try and lessen the headaches I take soluble tablets when I get home after the pub, and maybe another one in the morning. Lately I have started getting a pain in the left side of my stomach, the morning after - I am worried that I am damaging my liver...but I find it very hard to go out and not drink as drinking gives me confidence. Would Milk Thistle be a good substitute for painkillers??

I had this alcoholic cider when I was in Australia and it is made by the same folks who bring us Fosters, but I have absolutely no luck finding it in the United States, and more specifically in the New Jersey area. Does anyone know of a speciality distributor that carries it?
