I have a bottle of expensive, fruit-infused vodka that was first opened two years ago and has been kept in climate-controlled storage, half-empty, with its original cork seal, ever since. I read online that over time the spirit breaks down the chemical composition of the glass bottle and thus becomes more alkaline and unpleasant to drink. I've also read that infused vodkas have a more limited shelf life than pure vodka. Is there any truth to this statements? What are the facts here?
