which beer tastes good with shandy?

Shandy is traditionally a mixture of lemonade and a Bavarian style weiss. This is because the flavors created by the fermentation of the wheat produce fruity esters which dovetail nicely with citrus. This is why most Bavarian weiss (wheat) beers are served with a lemon and most Belgian wit beers are served with an orange. As the lemonade is obviously derived from lemons, the Bavarian weiss is the traditional choice.

This doesn't make it exclussive however. If you can get your hands on any, I suggest trying a shandy with a Berliner weiss which has a slight amount of tartnes from a regional strain of Lactobacillus (the bacteria used to make yogurt and sourdough bread). This additional tanginess works wonders with the lemonade.

Leinenkugel's from Chippewa Falls, WI makes a pre-bottled shandy and is selling it in region this summer. Unless you're too busy to mix one up yourself, I've avoid it. It is an interesting beer, however, the sweetness they add to it prevents it from being the truly refreshing summer drink it's supposed to be. I was luckily enough to try their original batch at a food service show and the sweetness was so overpowering it tasted like a lemon head got dropped into the beer. Since then, they've tweaked the recipe, but it's still not as crisp as it ought to be.

And for poops and giggles, you might want to try a stout float this summer. Get yourself a pint of stout. Young's Double Chocolate stout works best, but Guiness is also delightful. And then simple add a scoop or two of your favorite chocolate ice cream.
