Are you thinking in terms of a micro-brewery or a mega-brewery? The stuff from the micro-breweries may be more difficult for those of us who are interested in learning about some better-tasting brews to find. Just a thought.

probably one of the Yuengling brand, they claim to be America's oldest brewery.

However sadly, America is way down on the list for good world's beers, mainly because of the alchohol content restriction. Also very few places anywhere will brew and serve "Real Ale" - served direct from the wooden cask via a wooden 'tap' hammered into the front at the bottom (cask is layed on side)

Holland, Germany, France, U.K. are all above USA for quality beers.

In France there is a beer called Euro 21 - and yes that is 21 proof beer.
Belgium has Trappiste Extra, an exceptionally fine dark beer.
U.K. has a plethora of fine "Real ALes"
Ireland has Guiness (of which the American version is a pale, weak tasteless cousin)

You know, most of Sam Adams isn't even brewed in Boston, it's in like PA or something...

anyways, I'd say Dod Fish Head makes some of the best beers in the US. There are way too many good breweries to choose from though.

Probably some variety of Rogue, brewed in Newport, Oregon. The HazelNut Brown Nectar is my favorite, but I know a lot of people who think most of Rogue's beers are excellent.
