Breathalizers measure the amount of alcohol particles per whatever that are exhaled. There isn't a real way to reduce the amount you drank right before you are about to be nabbed, but here some things to remember -
NEVER try to drive after drinking - simple, yet people die each year because they think they are okay to operate a 2 ton piece of machinery.
Second, if you need to slow down (removed alcohol from your system), all you really can do is try to absorb and pass it faster - one good way is to eat, which will give liquid particles something to stick to, and hurry them along through your system.
After one too many, sit down and drink water - this will help flush your system of the alcohol. Be warned: if you had a more than a few too many already, water flushes the alcohol through your system faster, so will actually get you 'drunker' while it sends the alcohol to the kidneys to be detoxified out of your system.

Every unit of alcohol takes an hour to go out of your body. The average pint has about 2 units of alcohol (some more, some less) so it would take at least four hours after your drink for you to have no alcohol in your system. The best option i believe is to get a taxi home or not drink at all if you need to drive,

I am always a fan of walking. All the way home. Or at least to a friend's house to crash. One night, instead of driving, I walked from Keene to Swanzey, which is a good eight miles. By the time my firend and I got pulled over (on foot), we were disgustingly sober, and it was three o'clock in the morning. I slept well later that morning. On his couch. The cops were glad that we were sober, and not trying to cause trouble. I was glad that I didn't try driving, because I was enough of a danger on foot.
Oh, and you can't cheat the breathalizer test unless you drink bleach. Then you will be dead.

hopefully you'll never need to do this, but this is a legal way out of it coming from a friend who's a policeman. keep a bottle of mouthwash in your car and as soon as you get pulled over take the keys out of the ignition and begin drinking the bottle of mouthwash in clear sight of the policeman and preferrably the camera mounted in his car. when they give you the breathlyzer, they cannot legally prove you were intoxicated while driving before you drank the mouthwash (which contains a small amount of alcohol). you can also do this with a can of beer, but must make sure you take the keys out of the ignition and throw them in the back seat... you would still get charged with drunk in public, but they cant prove you were intoxicated before you drank the beer, and thats much better than a DUI

It's a myth you can't get around it. Keep a pint of apple cider vinegar and guzzle it before being pulled over. It neutralizes the alcohol in you're blood stream in about 10 minutes.
The show Myth Busters was unable to disclose the truth that this works for obvious legal reasons.
I'm not advising anyone to drink and drive. I'm just stating the truth.

Get a DD, call a cab, stay at a hotel, sleep in your car. Please don't drink and drive. Could you really live with yourself if you hurt or killed someone because you were drunk driving? I have a usual group of friends that always hangs out together and we take turns being the DD. If you have enough people, you only have to DD like once every month or two.

Gum will not help with a breathalyzer test. It does not test the freshness of your breath. It tests the level of alcohol in your system. Why would you put yourself and others in danger by driving under the influence anyway?

wait two hours per drink before puting yourself in a position in which you might be breath tested.
EXAMPLE: You finish off a six pack of beer, don't drive for 12 hours.

You know how you pass? You stop drinking, go to sleep and drive home the next day when you're sober. Works every time. ;-)
