I am going to be making yellow rice..can I make it in a silver pot or is it better to use a glass one? Does it even matter? Also, I have a glass pot I could use but the top for it does not have a hole on the top to release air..can I still cook rice in it?

when my wife is bored on weekends and wants to make a nice dinner for the two of us she asks what i would like and i always say "an oven stuffer roaster chicken with Stove Top stuffing and steamed baby carrots". but then she says no and asks what else do i want. she knows damn well that every time she asks me that question that i want an oven stuffer. why does she ask if she won't make what i want?
