I have been following a vegetarian diet for a little over a month. I have taken a multi-vitamin everyday for the past 2-3 years. I am a 27 year-old female.

If you are taking a multivitamin with a normal amount of iron in it, you are fine as is. If you are getting a little bit of an overage, your body will just purge it out, provided it is working properly, and you'll be well set if you have to donate blood.

Try the vegetarian societies page on Iron. It shows how much you need and where to get it from:

http://www.vegsoc.org/info/iron.html

That page says 14.8 mg per day

Chick peas, Bran flakes, spinach, baken beans, muesli, figs and apricots are good sources

You are most likely getting more then enough which is never a great idea. If you eat a balanced diet..you dont need a supplement.
