I successfully made the Tortilla pinwheels, thanks to answers here: now I am wondering how long they will stay fresh in the fridge?
I mixed cream cheese with salsa and chopped green onions, spread on Tortillas then put slices of ham or beef on.
Rolled them up and covered each one with saran wrap, ready to slice into "pinwheels" when I need them - but now I am wondering how long they stay fresh?
Thanks
j.

My place of business is going to have a luncheon for me because I would have been there 25 years in September.
I might have dollar roll sandwiches and maybe some fresh fruit and maybe some cupcakes for dessert.
Can anyone else give me some other suggestions as to what food I should have?
The times of the luncheon are 11:30-1:30 p.m. during a Saturday.
Do you think it would be a good idea to have a raw vegetable tray with dip also?

for some reason, when i serve pasta, i end up with such a small window of time where its right. if i serve it too soon, it usually isnt cooked all the way through, and it dries real quickly. if i cook it too long, the pasta is soggy and it breaks apart really easily, and again it dries up really quickly.

part a: how can i tell when my pasta is cooked properly?

part b: how can i serve it so that it doesnt dry out so quickly?

I'm not saying you should eat meat frequently, but occasionally
like me, especially seafood. Also yogurt is a SUPERFOOD, so go and figure.

I am the girl who usually goes grocery shopping and comes out with stuff like the following:
doritoes
beefaroni
hot dogs
cereal & milk
frozen dinners
diet soda
steak
canned soup

yeah... NOT healthy... I know......
Tonight I was inspired. I've gone through some healthy periods in my life and even done the weight watchers thing twice. I am a decent cook, but i lack interest and motivation, not skill..... I ADORE cooking shows above all....

So... here's what came home with me.... what would *YOU* do? Plz consider my past.....

Cannellini, Red, & Black Beans
FF Low Sod. Chk broth
LF Peanut Butter
Lite Itl. Dressing
Broccoli
Vidalia Onions
Cucumbers
Garlic
Celery
Baby Carrots
Plums
EV Olive Oil
Skless BNless Chk Breast

Also... tips on storing are welcome!

My boyfriend's coming to visit me and I want to cook dinner for him. The problems are..

He's very picky. He doesn't like any green vegetables. He likes steak, but I want side dishes, too.

Also, I'm a beginner cook. So I need it simple and easy with lots of detailed instructions.

Last problem, I live in a apartment style dorm. So my resources are limited. I have a stove and oven, and a george foreman grill. haha But I don't want to be spending a great deal of money for ingredients for one dinner. I'm a broke college student.

Any ideas?

My husband & I have been slowly making switches in our diet to all organics......There are some things we plan on keeping non-vegan, such as eggs, cheese...and only on special occassions steak. Our resoning for the switch is mostly for the change in the way most meats and other food products are handled before delivered to a supermarket.... Way made the switch to soy milk sincemilk cows were still being pumped w/ sterroids and other things i wish not to discuss and alsoslowly making SOME (not all meat changes) due to the handling and unknown freshness factor....Our Diet has always been perfectly balanced and extremely healthy for omnivoires (eat everything)......but we need more ideas for High Protein Vegan recipies as we are making some changes.......Any ideas?

I had some 7 layer dip at a party a few years ago and it was really really good. All I remember is that it definitely had guacamole, refried beans and I think sour cream in it, as for the rest of the ingredients, well I can't remember anymore. I did a search for this at www.allrecipes.com and got lots of results for 7 Layer Dip but I can't decide which to use? So can anyone please recommend your favorite, what you consider is to be the best & Layer Dip you've tried??
