There is a British store in my city that sells all sorts of hard to find British food, tea, snacks, beautiques, etc. Why didn't anyone ever tell me that these products existed? Why aren't any of this stuff mainstream in the U.S. already? OMG, Star Bar candy bars are to die for. Marmalaide is delicious with toast. HP is an excellent sauce which goes on top of Shepherds pie which is to die for. And OMG have you tried these tarts by Holmfield Bakery? I can live off of those. Also for those who like Kit Kat, the British make a BIG KitKat bar where all you get is one giant bar. It's quite a tasty treat.

Why is it impossible to find this delicious stuff at American grocery stores? Why isn't this mainstream American already? I know it's expensive but that could be because it's made in England and labor is expensive over there plus it's like buying a specialty item.

Why wasn't I ever told about British food? I would have loved to have had British candy when I was younger.

We had some left over Buffalo Sauce from Mcdonalds by brother bought the other day. I put of the container on a chicken sandwich and it was very good. I was gonna put the other half on a Turkey burger but when I went to look it up on mcdonalds it had 7 grams of fat and 70 calories. Which took me by total surprize I thought it'd be better than BBQ sauce.

Buffalo Sauce is awesome though, and Mcdonalds isn't exactly a nutritionists dinner of choice. Is their a low fat version of buffalo sauce that isn't just plain old tabasco?

I love the stuff, fried or straight out of the jar, but I can't seem to find a lot of recipes or ways to serve it formally. Is there a hype behind Okra and what is the best way to eat/enjoy?

you usually cook great, people are looking forward to your dish because they have heard such great things about you AND than the dish you bring turns out to be your "not so best" and no one comments on it. usually people say your food is good, but this time you get 0 comments. how do you handle it??

I want to make scalloped potatoes from scratch in my crock pot for a pot luck get together, but everytime I have tried...my potatoes turn brown and they look so disgusting and I throw them out! If anyone has a great cheesy scalloped potatoes recipe, please share, but also please tell me what to do so that my potatoes don't turn brown!!! I am really wanting to make them from scratch instead of from a box this time. I'd like to take all the credit myself ;-) and feel good knowing I accomplished it!!

Thank you!!!

In my family it was like at least a once a week thing. Any unusual things you do with it? I like tons of pepper on mine, and croutons and sometimes grated cheese. I know someone who swears that made with buttermilk instead of milk that it's great. Kind of reluctant to try it because I hate buttermilk. What do you do?

My likes: Cherry, Pineapple, Orange

My dislikes: Coconut, Mango, Passion Fruit, Lemon

Considering the above, what would you recommend?

I have been cooking split pea soup from dried split peas for over thirty years, with and without ham, with and without potatoes; with carrots, celery, vegetarian style and even yellow peas and East Indian style. Suddenly I can't get green split peas to cook down to get soft anymore. I have tried soaking, par-boiling, and all kinds of methods. I am beginning to think that there is something wrong with the green split peas that are being sold now. Has anyone else had this experience?
Maybe it isn't the most earth-shattering problem but we love split pea soup at my house and being pretty much vegetarian has become a staple dish with us. Has anyone else noticed that this is occuring with their split peas? I am a good cook and I have done it for a living. I don't get it.

I've been vegetarian for a month now and eat very healthy and work out 4 times a week. In the month before I decided to go vegetarian I only ate tuna about 3 times a week [it was the last thing i gave up] So I was wondering, has my body completely finished flushing out all the animal inside of me yet? Or does it take longer than a month?. I feel so much better now though, and lighter to carry myself, I feel so fresh and my skin feels and looks great times 10! Just wondering if my insides are as happy :) Lol.

THANKS!
Hope my question didn't confuse anyone >.<

I'm looking for an online source for tea ingredients - not necessarily blends, but the separate ingredients (rose hips, jasmine, mint, etc etc), at a reasonable price.
Any ideas?
