GREAT question, and I wish I had a great answer, but you've nailed it. The parents are oblivious to the fact that they have trained the kids to eat horribly, then try to blame the kids (or the schools) for it.

I don't see how anyone could answer this question. How can I know why someone else does what they do. I can only give my opinion. My opinion is that there are a lot of parents out there they don't really want to parent their kids. They give in because it is easier.

because your parents expect you to use good judgement on whether you have had enough. Not all kids are old enough or wise enough to realize this though. The parents are to blame for giving it to them.
