I have tried different things, different heat or amount of oil, boiling the potatoes first, or not, experimenting with times, etc. Just half the time they come out deep fried and although it's nice, it was not what I wanted to make.

Have had some theories that the caramel is frozen then they add the chocolate

And then ofcourse the caramel dethaws and becomes utterly resistable

When I make chili all of my male friends want some. My female friends don't get excited about it.
