Singles & Dating - 13 July 2007

I have family members (grandmother and aunt) that are pressuring me to settle down. However, I do not want to settle for just anyone like they did. I have been through a couple of relationships that did not end well and I am not sure about getting involved with someone. When I have dated it has been people I have just ran into or setups. None of them worked out for one reason or another. I have decided to work on my career and volunteer for different organizations. I would rather volunteer my time to people that would appreciate it. Is it wrong to give up and just start thinking about yourself? I am all for falling in love with someone but I am not going to force it. Why don't they understand?

Imagine there's a guy who is really nice. He's kind and caring, someone who's really funny an knows how to make you laugh. Basically, he's a guy who has the personality of your "perfect man", in fact, the only flaw you can find is that he isn't good looking. Would you consider dating this guy if he asked you out?

Im 28, quite pretty, a nice person etc but I have been single for (dont laugh) 7 years (have had a few flings though) and although Im not desperate I would really like a partner. I dont like pubs so dont go there to meet blokes but I dont know what else to do. I see nice blokes but they are always in a relationship or they arent interested and the ones who are interested in me are only after one thing. What am I doing wrong and what can I do?

I know people say blokes pick up on women looking but I know I dont give off those vibes. Please help. Its getting me down now.

I am a scientist working in the UK. I am Indian and told I am extremely attrtactive.Everywhere I go I find men looking at me (maybe they think I look exotic) but they never seem to talk to me. And the few who do flee when they hear I am a Scientist. I am very curious to know why this is- is it my ethnicity or my qualification or both!!! I would love to hear your thoughts as i am begining to think i am never going to find anyone!!

What is about a nice guy that turns you off. Women always say that there are no good men out there. The fact is that their are plenty of good men out there, they just don't want them.Women always go straight to the guy who don't care anything about them. I've been in a relationship where I treated my girl like a queen and in the end I got screwed. So should I start acting like other guys or should I continue to be a nice guy because I think I'm done being nice. Not worth it.

I have come to realize that when men make love its so different then when they have sex. why is that?

isnt more intense to make love then have sex? I mean i can dig the fact that sometimes you just want to have sex but its just so totally different. Why cant us women really do the same thing.

My Boyfriend and I have been together for almost 2 years. We believe we are both ready to have sex, and are virgins. but I have to admit that I am very scared of it hurting and such. We do hope someday that we get married, but we are eachothers first love and it probably wont be another 4 or 5 years until we do get married. I think that sex will bring us a lot closer to eachother, Ive heard that when you are with the one you love, sex doesn't hurt because it is so passionate. We have done other things, but not sex, and the closer we get to sex, the closer we are getting to eachother. so my questions are, how long does it usualy take for the first time, like, how many hours should you expect this whole first experience to last? and what position is going to be the most passionate, and where is a good place and time for a first time like this?
