Singles & Dating - 29 January 2007

Okay, so he is my first boyfriend. He has had two girlfriends before me. I am 15 and he is 16.

The Problem: I am so confused. Do I call him every night? Do I wait for him to call? The call records are:

He called on Wednesday, which is the day he asked me out.

I called on Thursday and Friday. I had to check up on some things.

He called on Saturday.

We went on a date and later out to dinner with some friends of both of ours. No one called.

So, now it's Monday and he hasn't called and neither have I. Should I? Should I wait for him? Do I seem clingy if I do? Argh! This is a dumb problem, but I am so confused.
WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!?

but I kissed her yesterday and I got a big piece of roast beef in my mouth. She must not have brushed too well. Now I have trouble kissing her without thinking of that incident. How do I get past it?

There is a guy at work (in a restaurant). He is usually pretty outgoing (even around girls) but whenever he is around me, he's shy. I think that he finds it difficult to talk to me. Like the other day, no other co-workers were around except for me and him... he walked past me and lingered for a while (like he's thinking) before asking me about school (we're both college students). He often comments on how smart I am.

He also stares at me a lot and whenever I look his direction, he looks away or looks at something else that's in my direction.

He's really nice to me-- but in a modest way. He does little things to make my job easier. I also notice that he stares at me a lot. The thing is that I kind of like him too and I don't know if this is clouding my judgement.

Plotline/Getting to Know the Characters:
Set in a small town in California called Sunnyvale, the lives of John, Rachel, Dennis, and Roger unfold as they attend high school at Sunnyvale High. John and Rachel have been best friends since junior high and started dating in the middle of their freshman years. Currently still together, John and Rachel are now starting their sophomore years. Roger and Dennis are in the same grade. You can say Dennis, John, and Rachel are inseparable. In fact, they've been nicknamed, "The Three Musketeers." But Rachel and John and Dennis and John still have plenty of time alone together as girlfriend and boyfriend and best buds, respectively. John and Dennis met beginning of their freshman years. John and Roger met a few months into freshman year in their Driver's Ed. class. However, despite John and Roger being good friends, Dennis and Rachel dislike him. And their dislike for Roger has in a way built a bond between them, as something they only have in common apart from John; something that they only talk about and share when John isn't there.
John is 16 years old; he's 5'9 and 165 lbs. He's a swimmer--as he is on the Swimming Team at Sunnyvale High--and a skateboarder. He has a slim/sender-ish body, one gets from keeping an active lifestyle. He is toned---arms, stomach, etc---but not in a really, really muscular way. He also enjoys photophraphy, and is taking a Photography class this school year. He makes the grade with a 3.0 GPA average, with A's, B's, and sometimes some C's. John is shy while meeting new people, but his friends---and girlfriend---knows his true, fun personality of being outgoing, funny, goofy sometimes, etc. He is also a bit of a loner, with the exception of Dennis, Roger, and Rachel. John was born in Texas, moved to California shortly after, then PA, and now/then back to California. John's ethnicity is caucasian.
Rachel is also 16 years old; she's 5'6" and 115 lbs. She's a chearleader for the Football Team, plays on the Vollyball Team (All at Sunnyvale High, of course.), swims, etc. She's a straight-A student with a GPA of 4.0. She definitely seems like a 'social butterfly', and puts on that "act" for her so-called popular friends, only letting really her boyfriend John see the real her deep down inside, as he's been able to do since day one. Rachel was born and raised a 'Cali' Girl.' Rachel's ethnicity is Latina.
Dennis being 16 years old, on the Football Team, 6'2", 200 lbs. He's a big guy, but not totally muscular. He does have some fat on his bones. Unusually, he is a bit of a loner like John, which is how their friendship/bond started. He is very, very shy, and awful---or was---at talking to girls. Hanging out with John has helped Dennis be more confident in himself, more outgoing too, thus helping him be better with the ladies. However, he has yet to have a girlfriend. A few dates here and there though. Dennis was born in California and has been there since. He's almost all Irish---and some German.
Stephanie is 16 years old, 5'4", 110 lbs. She's a chearleader too, kind of bubbly, gets along and talks to and makes friends with everyone---popular or not. Except she doesn't go to Sunnyvale High; she doesn't even live in California. And she doesn't know Roger, Dennis, or Rachel. She doesn't even know John in person---just online from chatting on messenger. They met about 2 1/2 month prior during the summer after freshman year. She does have a boyfriend, Jason, of about four months. Her and John talk quite often, as penpals. Stephanie is Mexican and lives in noneotherthan, South Carolina.
Roger is African-American (black), is 5'8", and 185 lbs. He is into graphic design and building websites; doesn't play any sports, but does exercise. He has many friends too and his very popular. He's lived in California his whole life, except for six months when he was living with his mom in New York (His parents are divorced.). He's had girlfriends, but not currently.
Debbie & Jacob are the parents of John. They've been married for twenty years. And in the early '90s, Jacob cheated on Debbie with another woman. They separated for a year and a half and then got back together.
They all have their permits, except for Dennis. Rachel and Stephanie are the only ones with their own cars (Parents gave them cars after they bought new ones.). Roger and John borrow their own parent's cars.

there's this guy who i was "talking to" but after months of a lot of "stuff" that happened he ended up going out with my friend (we're not friends anymore) and while they were going out i didn't really talk to him anymore and then he contacted me two weeks ago(like seven months later) and told me he was sorry about the whole "that friend of mine and him" thing that we had gone through (they're broken up now) and now that he's back in my life all those feelings have come back...and i thought i had moved on... we've been talking and on saturday we went to the movies but he's leaving for the marines in a couple of months and i dont know how he feels about me. and i think im falling in love with him but i dont know if i should tell him before he leaves...any advice would help

lol ok this is gunna b kinda long...well idk maybe not. ok me and this new girl hav been hanging out and we both liked the same guy. but,,,the guy said he liked me so i was like yayyyy! but then the next week he was like damn im fallin for ur bestfriend too..so it broke my heart...but then he apologized ta me and i was like ohh ok...den now he like me like more than ever..he says that he loves me and stuff and that he dont like my friend no more...im like ohh ok. Especially when the guy in question seemed so keen on romance... and slowly but surely faded away, not returning phone calls and simply cowering away from me, no explanation at all? How can a man look at a girl in the eye and say he believes the relationship might work if we both put some effort into it and a week later simply dissapear from your life? Sex had not been denied, just not had yet, but the plan was there for the weekend... But not even then... so what gives? How do I get over what seemed to be "the one"?

He keeps on going through my work, he smiles at me when I'm not looking, then when I am, he frowns. While in class, we were checking our homework, and he movedon the floor, where everyone else was, and sat close to me. I sometimes catch him staring at me. During P.E., he kept on tagging me, on the shoulder. During Science class, my teacher was showing us what it was like being a molecule in the sun, and Kristian(My crush) kept on bumping into me. Another Science class, and i was absent the day before, and all of a sudden, Kristian said, "Qistina, stay. You can rest. I'll go get the stuff. You've been working too hard. One day, there was a basketball game at my school, and his best friend was SUPPOSED to sit next to him. But I saw Kristian telling his best friend to move behind Kristian. During Math class, he tells me to hide OUR answers from the other people at our table. He says he hates girls, but he doesn't show that he hates them to me, he shows it to other girls! Meaning please???

My boyfriend and I broke up about 5 months ago because his parents said he wasn't responsible enough to have a girlfriend a few years younger than him. He said when he gets to college we will get back together and he said he was going to move on with his life. We no longer talk because it's so hard to be "just friends". It will be about a year and a half before we can get back together and my life is just not the same without him. I still love him and know in my heart I always will and I will always want to be with him. Should I wait for him or just get over it and know it is a fact of life?

This guy told me last year that he really liked me. i never really liked him until he stopped liking me. then he asked another girl to homecoming and i just wish it had been me. after homecoming, he told me he still liked me and i went over to his house to watch a movie, but then i rarely spoke to him after. now he hasn't talked to me in a while and he no longer comes to my locker anymore, but i think i like him again. my mind is racing and i dont know what i want. what should i do?!
