Singles & Dating - 20 January 2007

My ex and I got together in May of 2005. We had a great relationship until my mother began interfering too much. After that things were more and more difficult. She didn't understand why I listened to my mother so much despite being 18. I broke up with her in March of 2006 for that reason and the fact that college was coming quickly. She was upset with me making a decision she felt wasn't necessary for months. I felt it was. We had prom two months away and our one year three months away. I felt that the timing would have made things worse. We maintained contact after words and it felt as if I hadn't broken up with her in the first place. When I left for college, we didn't talk as much. She was dating someone else, but I didn't have the heart to date anyone and hurt her more. We have been talking lately of getting back together but she is hesitant claiming that she doesn't trust me and is afraid of more heartbreak. I love her. Any suggestions?

I've hit it off really well with this girl for the past two weeks, seen each other a few times out with friends and she seemed very eager to see me again soon. I don't call her more than once a day, or maybe text her once a day, and all of a sudden she's not talking...why does she seem interested one day and then won't answer or return my call the next?

I am a 22yr old white male. I am dark skinned though for a white guy. I rock J's, Tims, got diamonds on my neck and in my ears, am a college sr, and work 40 hrs a week. Almost all of my friends are black. I don't have but maybe like 2 white friends. I dont try to be "black" it is jus I grew up in cities where there wasn't all of this divide that you find in small towns n all. I consider myself "urban" really. Anyways, I am hella attracted to black girls, but I never see the white men-black women couples that often. I was wondering, are they attracted to white guys like me or is it just a lack of interest by a large number of them? I mean everything like if you are attracted is individual, I know, but it doesn't seem to be a common trait, thats all. I was jus wondering bc I wanna date black girls and have really really really been attracted to some since I was like 14. I don't even really like white girls that much, honestly. There's just something about that caramel tone that gets me.

I like this one person, but I'm afraid to go out with him. He is SO nice though, and its not him, its me. I am really hurt by my ex and don't want to go through the yelling again, even though I know this guy would never yell at me. My ex just got frustrated cuz I called him too much, but that was only cuz I was upset we never hung out together or he never hung out with me, or called me back. sp we broke up. Ok...The guy I have a huge crush on since September, I feel like i'm annoying him now. I talk to him everyday and we are now aquantinces I believe. I gave him my phone number but he never calls because he says he sees me anyways but I tell him that the quarter is ending and i'm worried that we will never see each other at school again, esspassily that he's a senior and i'm a jr. So I warned him that I would be asking for his phone number sometime last week but never did because of FINALS and how busy me and him both were and everything. So my friend has him in her band class and she goes up to him and she's tells him that I still need his phone number and all he said was OK and then she is like "but don't tell me the phone number now becuase i'll forget it." and it sounded like he didn't care to give it out or anything so he just said OK(from what i've heard.)Do you think i'm bothering him? My boyfriend and i got into an argument today ( one of many )
because he was acting like a child and wouldn't let his little brother watch his favorite tv show. I asked him why his brother was crying and he laughed and said because i won't let him watch his favorite show and i think its funny. I said that i thought he was being very immature and so i turned his brothers show on so that he could watch it. After that, my boyfriends started calling me a ***** and told me to stay out of his buisness. I walked away and said " forget this i'm not going to argue with you? " He walked over and spit in my face and as he was walking out the front door told me that he better not see my face when he gets home.

I love him and its so hard to spend even one night away from him. . . what should i do? I do have respect and dignity for myself and i know i shouldn't be treated like this.

My Boyfriend works evening shifts at his job which means he is at work from 4 to midnight, I also have a meeting to go to that night after I get off work. He hinted toward asking it off and then I told him I had a meeting to go to and he was really disappointed. I wish I could get out of the meeting but it's mandatory. I want to do something really special since it's our first one together. I don't care if we go out or if we buy presents, I just want to do something really special for him. But we won't be together until 9 or 10pm. Any suggestions on what I might do. Should I have him ask it off? Should I do something during the day so he can enjoy it while I am at work? HELP!

I've been seeing this guy for 3 months but we're not exactly a couple. See his sister is my best friend and his family is like my second family but they don't know, and he's almost 3 years younger than me. Only 2 or 3 friends know about us and they all think its a bad idea. I keep being told that it won't work out and I should end it. We really like each other but I don't know what to do.
