I like this guy and I think he likes me. How do I tell if he's flirting?

He looks at me when he's talking to me, hits my arm, laughs when I laugh, puts his hat on me, and I think he makes excuses to stay with me unless its just a coincidence. He said to my friend that I was "sweet" and that I "rocked" but does that mean he just wants to be friends.
