The topic of the golden rule came into my mind recently, and one of my friends said there should be another rule, that says "Love others the way they want to be loved." This got me thinking... and then I was thought "I'll never fully be able to know how someone else wants to be loved, because they'll never fully tell me how they want to be loved." Any thoughts?

Last week i told a guy friend of mine at work that it would be better that we didn't talk so i can get over my crush on him since he's in a long distance relationship with another girl, as a matter of fact, she's in the Phillipines and he's here in the US. Before this happened, we joked around about hooking up, but then i felt bad and hurt about us joking about it. I told him that i really wanted to do it since i like him, but he has a gf and that it wouldn't be wise if we did it. Anyway, i got angry with him since he didn't respond back to me after I texted him Happy New Year's and I ended up sending him another text calling him a "dog" and that i didn't want to have anything to do with him, then later i apologized via text. Then the next day , I wrote him a letter telling him how i felt hurt about us joking around, and the fact we just treat each other as professionals. He's ignoring me altogether, no hello, excuse me, thank you, nada and it's really awkward.

I'm 24. she is 29. I have known her for 3 years. I have never gone out with any other woman. For 3 years my family thinks she is just a GOOD friend of mine, because they expect me not to marry her. She is very nice and even my family says she is, but I think it's because we have different backgrounds. Her parents/family love me and want me to marry her.
My family would basically REALLY hate me if I did it and more.
what do I do?

I've been keeping in touch with this guy for about seven years now.(long distance) For about the last 3 or 4 months we've been talking more and trying to see each other more. So here's the thing. During phone conversations, he refers to me as his best friend. That's cool and all, but when he comes to see me, he wants sex (he ain't got it yet). Met someone very intelligent & attractive two weeks ago. Have gone out for dinner & drinks twice. Third date was a last minute invite to dinner w/his friends at his house. I went and I ended up staying the night and getting pretty intimate when I had told him I had to be home by a set time. (No sex though). I feel unsure about my decision because I am not typically an impulsive person and am concerned about the impression I just made. I don't regret the evening ~ I really enjoyed it but did I just make a big dating mistake? I am into him & would like to get to know him much more. Any thoughts?

Im about to be 17, and have been with my boyfriend for 3 years and we have had break ups before, but this was nearly 2 years ago, we fell in love with eachother and he has moved 2 hours away (back in september) and we talk on the phone every night and see eachother every 2 weeks for a whole weekend, and it's been working well for the last 4 months, but recently it hasn't been as sparky as it was a month ago, I know I still love him and care about him, and I saw him this weekend and although I enjoyed my time with him and had nice chats, it wasn't the same as such. I can't imagine being without him, and I don't want to be with anyone else, but at the moment it feels as if he's a bit more into me than me into him, and occassionally little things about him irritate me,I don't want to be without him, I just want to work it out and it to be the same as it was, but I don't like me getting irritated by him at times or feeling as if the spark is going. Is it normal to have this phase?

i love this guy bc he is kind, sweet, romantic, and we share common interests... we are good friends.. but physically i never imagine myself with someone like him. he is short guy 5'5-5'6.... and his face isnt attrative... and umm.. he doesnt have good ethic... kinda lazy... i mean.. .. i care about a handsome guy and someone who like to stay busy and be active.. but should i just fall for this guy bc he listens to me and is sweet to me????????? dont know what to do.

i'm 19. i broke up with my bf 2 years ago. i loved him but the I moved out of state... and I guess the love wasn't there as before. well ever since I havent met a guy that I actually like... some guys asked me on dates but they were so lame and weird... will I ever find someone that enjoys the things I do, someone that I will fall in love with again , or do you only fall in love once???
