No, guys like trophies. If you did anything with him he wants his friends to know it and the panties are a form of bragging rights. If you didn't do anything and he asked for them then it's a way of saving face to his friends he will make it seem like you did. Many girls reputation has been ruined because of this symbol

I think that is a strange after any date. He obviously has a fetish for women's panties or is in a contest with his friends to see who can get the most.
